Rare Smoke Detectors

Haven’t been active on here in over a month so I figured I’d show off all of the detectors I have acquired since then.
Here they are in order from when i received them:

  • Black & Decker SMK6D/M1. Nothing too much to say about it other than that it is made by Ei Electronics and is the later variant with a half closed grille.
  • Ultra rare Family Gard unit from the early 90s, an FG1000C, based off of the BRK 1201. Oddly enough it uses the same grille pattern on the cover as the Wake 'N Warn 83R-based detectors did, except with an added Escape Light in the middle.
  • GE Home Sentry SMK-6. Once again, nothing too much to say about this one. I’m pretty sure the SMK series detectors came after the 820X series detectors but I’m not positive.
  • A detector that I received from a fellow member, a Jameson React RS-1, based off of the late 80s-early 90s FireX FXB (smaller base, smaller bracket) variant. Has a square cover which is what I particularly like about it. The downside is that the unit doesn’t work due to an exploded battery that seemed to have infected the internals, however it was offered to me for free and it is definitely a neat display piece. I am glad to have it.

I also recently ordered a NIB BRK 1839ACI, which partly I bought for pitty reasons because it had been just sitting on ebay for quite some time now, as well as a Jameson Code One CD-1 which was based off of the earlier 80s FireX FXB variant which is ALSO what my Sunbeam 45-51 is based off of. Be looking forward to those soon.
