Heres an 8201-201!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/174195741115
So I got this First Alert SA1839 off of ebay after thinking it was a 1839WN because the seller showed the box of a SA1839 but not the alarm so I was kinda fooled by the box this alarm has a US4075627A electric horn and the newer plastic sensor
oh and here is the patent for the horn (US4075627A - Electric horn - Google Patents)
I can say I have never seen a First Alert branded 1839ACI. That is a rare one you have there.
So I bought this PYR-A-LARM FB-1A a while back for 50 dollars on ebay with the box and manual and I gotta say Im pretty happy with it this alarm has a kobishi squealer horn and has a tear test button and the test button goes directly on the horn when you press it down
Oh hi there Tubby. We were chatting on discord
Haven’t posted here in months! Here’s 3 of my rarer eBay finds:
Top Left : Fire Angel FA-1. Too Right: HooverE8034 (yes the vacuum cleaner people)
Bottom: Dicon SA4. There was recently one on eBay NIB but sold soon after I saw the listing.
Also to Helen I’m very impressed with your collection you have going there.
Nice alarms, Nate! I really like that square Dicon. I found an ad for a similar one from 1986. It was Safe House branded.
Also, thanks for the compliment! I am going to start replacing alarms for people now. Every house on my street was built between 1979 and 1982, and all of them are/were equipped with Firex fx1s, including my house. I just replaced another sa76rc and 2 brk 769s (you saw pictures earlier), so I will update my collection photos.
Very interesting that all the houses on the street have the same alarms where you are. Even if houses were built in the same time period over here at least, some houses would have variety to them.
Here is a image of my Universal smoke signal SS-200 the first thing I want to point out is that the box is extremely cool because it is shaped like a house and also the alarm it self has a textured design and takes a 12.6 volt battery this also has a squealer horn and the ionization chamber has radium 226 in it and is square shaped. there is actually a guy selling another one of these if anyone is interested
Here is an image of one of my smoke detector shelves and there are some cool smoke detectors here there is of course a couple new detectors but there is also a bunch of old detectors the old ones on this shelf include Black&Decker SMK6D, Kidde KSA-300, American Sensors/Dicon SA388, and Universal Smoke Signal SS-750
Really nice shelves that you got for your detectors! I of course really like the one on the far left because it looks like a round version of the detector in the fire safety video I got when I was younger voiced by Gilbert Gottfried.
A few on ebay recently:

Ten-Tek (Dicon made) IB900, an ionization version. There have also been photoelectric models found.

Mastercraft 52-0256, rebranded Montgomery Ward 83-7 which is a rebranded SA76RS/77R. This is the earlier version, they also made a version of the SA76RC/79R with a cover of that style with the big side vents.
Entronic Vigilante Z-700, predecessor to the ES-7 I have.

FireX FXB-1A, NIB contractor model. This is another early version with the squealer horn and no test button.
Nice ones!
Hey so I found this ESL FA-201 online and I really like the design! What were its predecessors? Did they share this design?
It has the “blue” sounder and is from 1998. It is a battery power smoke detector.
Also, when did the Cerberus/Siemens DI-3 come out?
That’s the same seller that me and Federal3t22 got ours from. He has multiple apparently.
Those ESL’s are neat, the residential ones always had the blue MuRata electronic horns from what I can remember.
This is my second smoke detector shelf this has other stuff too like radios and games but its mostly smoke detectors and manuals. So as you can see there is a few modern detectors and a fire alarm (spectralert classic) but there is also a bunch of cool vintage detectors like the PYR-A-LARM FB-1A, Wesclox 83090, Universal smoke signal SS-200, BRK 1200, First alert SA67D, american sensors 770B (2004 is kinda old I guess idk), Family gard 83R, and BRK 86RAC and there are also two heat alarms which is the Vuclan Autosonic Mark 30B and the Vantronics Rescue 2 R-50
oh and here are the modern detectors if anyone is interested
Kidde I9010, Kidde P9040, Family gard FG200, first alert SA303, and Kidde PI9000
That’s the same seller that me and Federal3t22 got ours from. He has multiple apparently.

I think this is his only other one. I pleaded for my dad to let me buy it, but he said I should use my $20 for something else.

That’s too bad, but it’s YOUR money.
