That Sears on that demo board is a rebrand of the nearly-extinct BRK SS74R, which is already rare
Sorry, I meant extremely rare. Probably less than 10 have been found while homesearching. The BRK SS74R is essentially a BRK SS749 without a test button. The SS749s actually started fires, so they were recalled shortly after introduction. So that means finding one while homesearching almost 50 years later is insane. Same goes for the SS74R and the Sears rebrand. James from Photoelectric Elevators has made a video about identifying if a smoke alarm is rare or not.

Is that a smoke alarm listener next to it? If that’s the case, it probably means that the owner is still actively maintaining and using that unit, which is both cool and concerning at the same time.

Certain people in the smoke alarm community believe this to be the most insane find ever which is just not true as there has been way rarer things found! Examples": Woodgrain 74R Sears, Wells Fargo gas alarm, and a C&M industries Model 5.
