If you would like to know more about fire extinguisher selection and recommendations on which fire extinguishers you think are useful, please feel free to share your experience. Your sharing will help more people get safe protection.
My first choice would likely be an ABC-type extinguisher made by First Alert: ABC-type since they can put out the most kinds of fires of any type of extinguisher, & First Alert since I know they make quality products (which admittedly makes it silly that so far all the extinguishers that I believe I’ve bought are Kidde instead: still better than nothing I suppose, & hopefully they’ll come through when they’re needed anyway).
My choice is the First Alert one’s they last a long time sealed. and they stay fully pressurized. Our house came with one and we bought a white one that came with a mount.
Can’t say I’ve ever heard of “Victory” or “Strike First” but alright.
Well so far the Kidde extinguisher I had put in the garage seems to be holding up alright, & as for First Alert shouldn’t all extinguishers be serviceable by a professional service company regardless of brand? (which is of course why such companies exist & why you should always leave testing & maintenance to them)
Kidde might have issued many recalls over the years (& as a result they wouldn’t be my first choice for basically anything), but their products might still be fairly reliable regardless. Also you say “these videos” but that’s just one that only goes over Kidde recalls, that’s it.
In any case, the majority of consumers will likely just go to their local store like the ones you listed & just get an extinguisher from there (& sure, they might not be of exceptional quality but that doesn’t mean they won’t come through when needed most: that’s why we have product standards that companies are held to (especially in the case of life safety, which UL cares highly about).
