Refurbished Sterling M-5/M-10

I’ve passed this siren back when the siren was still all rusty. When the firehouse took the siren down, I thought it was decommissioned, so you can imagine my shock when I was coming home and saw the siren completely refurbished with a new paint job and everything. It’s nice to see a firehouse show so much care for an old siren like this!

Because I was in the car when I got this picture, I can’t really tell if this is an M-5 or M-10 Sterling siren.

Oh? Nice: always love it whenever sirens like that are refurbished rather than scrapped.

Well, it’s neither an M-5 or M-10. Both names are misnomers. That is just a Post-28 Model M. Likely manufactured in the late 40s into the 50s.
