I have a lead on a Silent Knight 5104 for about $100 working. Do you think this is a good deal or should I find something else. (Anyone who saw my “Building a Panel” I’m going to build it- someday but I thought it would be useful to have a real panel to study.) The panel is in good condition and was “pulled to add a bigger panel”. Please leave your thoughts.
The Silent Knight 5104 isn’t a fire alarm panel- it’s a digital dialer (DACT).
Dialers have zones; this may have confused you.
and it’s 12V. I’m looking on eBay for a different panel.
I’ve found a Fire-Lite MS-25 and a Kiddie Fenwall Scorpio FACP, both work. Which would you get? The Kiddie is cheaper, but the MS-25 is addressable and that might be nice down the road. (Can I use conventional detectors and pulls too?)
Please disregard this article, I made the homemade “Quick alert” schematic work.
