Silent Knight SK-Zone-6 Module

Hello,

I am looking at a new project and plan on using SK-5808 addressable panel. Because there are existing conventional 2 wire smoke zones I am thinking of installing a SK-Zone-6 module. It is designed to handle a variety of 2 wire smoke detectors.

What I can’t find is will it respond to a short across the loop as in a pull station or heat detector. This project has a mixture of 2 wire, heat and pulls on the same loop.

Basic question is can the SK-Zone-6 handle this and respond. I can assume it can but just wanted to confirm.

Thanks,

Les

Note: I am by no means a Fire Alarm Technician, so don’t try anything until someone confirms it. (This is to protect me from some of the wannabe Gestapos on this forum. It is also to a you from any damage that could occur due to me accidentally misinforming you.)

Hi there! Welcome to the forums.

I think it would actually depend on who the manufacturer of the detector. Some of them aren’t compatible.

(I will say this again so the wannabe Gestapos have no good reason to yell at me), I am NOT a a Fire Alarm Technician, so don’t try anything until someone confirms it.

We have got to make it so we can edit our posts for longer than 5 minutes. Or at least still someone quotes it. :x
Anyway.

I did find the Install Manual for it.

Although it only shows System Sensor detectors…

Thanks!!

I already read the install manual but it does not reference the use of a contact closure as a trigger point mixed with a 2 wire smokes.

Some panels can handle this and some can’t.

Now that it is Monday, I will have to call tech support to clarify.

Thanks again.

Les
