Hello. I have a Simplex 2098-9525 detector base that I got with some other old stuff. I can’t seem to get this to work.
I’m not sure if this is an addressable device or not. I don’t see any DIP switches to set addresses on this. The photoelectric head on the base is dated 1981, and I can’t find any documentation on this particular base.
I actually have a similar model (2098-9527 to be exact), & provided there’s no real difference between the two you should be able to power it by connecting wires to the C & L2 terminals (as it’s a conventional two-wire detector base).
Thanks! Turns out this is one of those bases that doesn’t blink on standby (from the looks of it). I had a similar experience with a conventional TrueAlarm heat detector.
Sure thing! Yeah: honestly have no idea why some detectors are designed like that: you’d think that people would want to know when it’s powered.
