I posted my last update about my money pit 4100ES, where I had gotten some audio stuff (mostly the front panel & audio controller), but I am pleased to update everyone that I have made more progress!
Since my last update, I:
Replaced the single-channel audio control button card (it was missing a button)
Replaced the malfunctioning zone card - it no longer burns out fuses!
Purchased an XPS power supply!
Purchased a 70 Volt, Flex50 amplifier!
So, that means my panel is now fully voice capable. I have a couple more things I want to do before it’s fully complete, though, which are:
Installing an 8-point, flat, relay card (goes in the extra block space in the bottom of the second bay)
Replace the SDACT with a 24 Point I/O card
Network card
EPS+ Power Supply and IDNAC! (this will be later, when I am less broke)
IDNAC will realistically come later on down the line. The cost of the EPS+ is substantial (around $500), but the main cost is the devices themselves. I plan to go with the 49HFV-APPLW (high-fidelity wall mounted, red), but these devices in some cases can run upwards of $100 (!) each on the used market. It’s a roughly thousand dollar upgrade - but I believe that I may be able to pay it off by selling the existing SPS power supply that’s installed in the top bay, to pay for it.
Edit: IDNAC should be a drop-in replacement for speaker strobes that will be installed. It’s able to reuse the same wiring (all it’d do is move the connection for the strobes from the SPS/XPS to the EPS & program).
