Single stroke mechanism from single stroke bell now acting like a vibrating bell mechanism

Darned if I can figure out why, but the single stroke mechanism I took from an Autocall 10" bell began acting like a vibrating bell when I installed it in a Autocall 6" bell…

It works quite well.

I got two Pyrotronics 6" 120 volt bells, and one I used it’s mechanism to restore a Autocall 4" bell; the single stroke mechanism came from a 10" Autocall 10" single stroke bell.

It’s odd to me, but I’m happy.

The mechanism has what looks like a diode on one side of the mechanism to allow supervision.

Can anybody guess why the single stroke mechanism would behave like I described? All I can say is as long as it keeps working well, I’ll use it that way.

Thanks, Ed Burnett

BTW: The 6" Pyrotronics bell (1 of 2) is at the left of my picture.

I’ll post some photos later of the inside of one of the Pyrotronics bells.

Here are more photos of my Pyrotronics 6" bells showing the internals of one with the diode.

Please ignore the extra picture of the bell internals, it was added in error.

I’ve determined why the single stroke mechanism was acting like a vibrating mechanism…

It was so close that the striker/mechanism would vibrate producing a lower sounding ring.

It can still function as a single stroke mechanism.
