The Classic Car Topic

If you Own a Classic Car or you have any pictures of Classic Cars, you can put them here!

Here are some pictures of the classic cars I own

This is not a real Ford GT40, this is a Kit car. this is a 1966 Fiberfab Aztec on a 1957 VW Beetle chassis.

this shows 3 classics in 1 picture. the truck on the left is a 1987 Chevy R10 Silverado, in the top center is a 1971 Chevy C10 (forgot the trim model) and on the right is a 1973 Pontiac Firebird that we call the fire chicken.

this is a picture of my 1971 VW Super Beetle that I call the Flintstone mobile because of the rusty floor pans. this picture was from couple years ago.

this one is a sad one. This is a 1972 VW Standard Beetle rail buggy. This belonged to my grandpa on my moms side of the family. He loved this thing to death. but sadly in December 2025 he passed away. He wrote in his will that I was to get this car. that’s what makes it sad.

This is my 1971 Chevy C40 with a Carpenter Body Works school bus body on it. not much to say about it other than yes, this is mine.

this is a really old picture of my Dads 1967 Chevy Camaro. and if you know anything about the Camaro’s, you would know that 1967 if the first year they ever made them. it currently sits in my garage out of the weather the one day be restored.

And that’s it. yeah I know I have too many but what’s wrong with that. I would love to see what you guys have or any pictures you may have. Cheers!

You have a fine collection of four-wheeled friends there my friend! (heh) Best of luck in making sure they’re all in as best of condition as they can be!

Damn that thing is amazing!!! It even has the old triangle stop arm. Hope to see you get her going again.

We actually got it somewhat running the other day. Needs a new fuel pump.

Nice! Glad to hear it runs! I got this ol beast running again last month.

Very nice, but I’d really move that poor van into a nice warm covered garage if I were you, as all that snow together with the rest of nature’s elements are really hammering it I’m sure (particularly the snow, ice, & rain, since those are all very big causes of rust in vehicles).

That is an absolute BEAUTY. Awesome that you got it running. Was that a camper by chance?

It can handle it. It sat for 30 years about 400 feet into the woods behind where it is in that picture. A friend and I removed the camper portion and drug it out almost two years ago. Hopefully, this was its last winter on that property.

It was honestly easy to get going thanks to it’s electronic ignition (Mopar had it all the way back to the 70s and this is a 78) and yes it was a motorhome (picture below). It’s my project. It does move but doesn’t have brakes and has only two good tires.

That grill looks a lot like a 1970 Chevy c10s grill.

Alright. I’d still keep it somewhere safe if I were you though, as that’ll hopefully help prevent the elements from damaging it any further.

Lol kinda. This grille is way bigger I’d say

When I have my own house it’ll get put in a garage that’s for sure. Till then it’ll remain parked outside. It’ll stay off the road in the winter.

So a pretty big update on the c40 bus. We got it to start running on its own. We took the old carburetor off and it was complete junk through and through. But we already bought a new carb so we put the new one on. We also got the new fuel pump installed. But there is a slight issue. The left rear inner and outer tires are obliterated. The tires are 8.25 - 20’s for the rear… they be expensive. But the clutch and transmission (4 on the floor btw) work and she almost pulled herself out of the hole she’s been stuck in since 1987 even with 2 obliterated tires. She runs great though and there is like no engine noise. Hope to get the brakes fixed here soon so it can actually stop after we get it to drive.

Awesome! Hope you’re able to get those tires and brakes figured out. That’s the hang up on my Dodge cause the lugs are rusted and the rear brakes aren’t made from what I can tell.

so uh slight problem with getting tires for my bus. I found out recently that they are split rim wheels… You may not see a problem. the issue is that No One wants to work with split rims because they can Seriously Injure you if your not careful…

Mhm, as this video by WorkSafeBC demonstrates:

There are people who do specialize in those specifically but they can be hard to find. It’s easier to convert them to a more modern style using the stock rims. It’d definitely be easier if you had Daytons on there. Basically I’d look at getting tubeless radial rims that match or trying a Dayton swap with a matching size. Only thing with Daytons are they’re two piece, center of rim is the brake drum/hub and the outer is the rim itself.
