My Dad and me modified a standard Flathead Screwdriver Bit and made it fit perfectly in my Edwards 270-SPO and my Edwards 278B-1110! I’ve already pulled and reseted my 270-SPO at least 15 Times since we made that custom but and the screw still isn’t stripped!
As long as I carefully Open the Pull Station with 2 Hands and the Screwdriver perfectly aligned with the bit, then this Screw won’t strip!
Tell me what you think of my custom Bit?
Not sure I’ll ever understand how a special bit like that doesn’t strip the screw (especially since a 270-series station’s security screw doesn’t really protect it from just being opened with an ordinary flathead screwdriver).
Why can’t you just replace the screw with a Philips head screw?
You’d have to somehow saw the original screw’s head off to do so, which you can’t really do with it still in the top of the station.
How does a philips head fit a flat head!
