That’s because it is: it’s not a smoke detector, it’s a Fulleon Roshni fire sounder rebranded by Federal Signal as their “LP4 StreamLine” series (which is meant for general signaling applications).

at my old work place (a local pool) we had one of those at the wave pool control box that would sound 1 minute befor the waves started as a way to say HEY GET AWAY FROM THE PUMPS
