Virginia/Washington DC area- hiring experienced fire alarm techs.
It seems to be a shortage of experienced techs in the fire alarm field. Very few are getting into the trade. It’s a shame since it pays really well.
Are others having problems finding techs or bringing in some with experience and teaching them?
I think it’s a combo of “everyone’s hiring but not a lot of people are applying”, and it’s nationwide.
I work for an engineering firm, not a service or ITM firm, but even we’re trying to deal with hiring enough staff to keep on top of work. Fire alarm or indeed fire protection as a whole just seems like a niche field to tell people about and even more tricky to get them to join.
