In the new twisters movie which i saw in theaters the day i posted this theres 2 scenes with tornado sirens which weird me out, in the rodeo scene there is a visible ASC T-121 and instead of sounding like it usually does
the creators of the movie decided to play the alert tone of a whelen vortex R4
Same thing with a shot in the movie when the tornado is striking el reno there is a 2t22 that is in the scene and instead of playing its regular tones
the creators of the movie decided to play the alert tone of a whelen vortex R4
Another strange thing is when the ASC T-121 got ripped off its pole it was still sounding even though its power supply had been completely cut
Ok. I listened to both of the videos you provided. The Alert tones at peak rpm (T-121) and peak whatever it is for electronic sirens sound the same. The only differences I can tell between the T-121 and the Vortex are the rise, window, and the fact the Vortex rotates, creating the rise-fade Doppler effect. As for the 2T22, I was even like, “What the heck?!” because they, as you said, didn’t use the 2T22’s tones. Now, as for when the T-121’s pole gets snapped and it’s sucked into the tornado, the siren still runs but its starting the winddown at the point. The electro-Mechanical siren’s rotor doesn’t immediately stop spinning when power is cut off.
