Starting a thread for uncommon, unusual, or strange voice evac messages/tones.
This is not for historical systems (such as Entergy Tower), more so modern ones that use a rather unique tone or message.
Or just voice glitches in general.
A few I’ve found that fit this category:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bBHJw6x87lI: Notifier system with a very odd temporal 3 tone, which sounds like an EST Genesis combined with a 300-400Hz low frequency tone, plus a custom message. The Advance sound you hear is from B200S sounder bases.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XLs0kHbIGRg: The EST voice message we all know and love, but spoken word for word by the Simplex voice actor with slow whoop tone. Not as unusual but still noteworthy
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YC9h7gOA5u8: This is hilarious, I’ve never seen a voice system do this before. Sounds like the Cerberus Pytotronics voice actor, so might be an MXL system. Keeps repeating “P… P… P… P…” over and over, no tone.
The first one is actually a Fike system. They are more known for their releasing panels, however Fike does have some standard systems. The tone also sounds extremely like the one used at my school (EST3). Here is an audio clip for comparison: Fire Drill Audio - Google Drive
According to a commenter on that video, that system supposedly has a Fike Cybercat controlling it, but in any case the combination of sounds is quite unusual.
Yeah that’s a weird setup no doubt, no idea why it’s like that.
Oh yeah: no idea why Simplex decided to knock off Edwards’ script, but Edwards has actually done the same with their voice actor, as one of their 7 default male messages has a script nearly identical to that of Simplex’s default message.
That is indeed an MXL, specifically an MXL-V, & that’s one of two documented failures of an MXL-V’s DMC-1, with this being the other.
I’ve found quite a few videos that feature unusual combination female/male messages like that one myself (not counting MXL-V/DMC-1 messages since a lot of those have a female voice actor start out the message):
Evax message as implied by the whoop, though I’ve never heard that message anywhere before.
This one was actually recorded by the same couple that did LAX’s announcements at one time as well as the iconic announcements in “Airplane!” according to the description!
The male voice actor sounds like “DVC Guy” as I like to call him, who’s Notifier’s current male voice actor for their current message module the DVC, but I’m not sure I recognize the female voice actor. The comments say that it’s likely a Notifier AMG-1 we’re hearing however.
As you might be able to tell, this one sounds like a combination of a female Notifier DVC message & a male Simplex message.
What makes this one confusing is the fact that in another video that same message is paired together with the Notifier DVC’s slow whoop tone, even though in this video & another the devices are Edwards/EST. Not sure I’ve ever heard a tone like that one either (not to mention the message itself of course).
Another one that includes “Simplex Guy”, though this time the female voice actor might be the one that Simplex apparently uses specifically for Boston-area messages.
Yet another “Simplex Guy” message, though the female voice in this one is the more standard “Simplex Gal” that they use more commonly.
These last three are all from airports, & all of them are male-female rather than female-male in order:
Wheelock E90 speaker/strobe (or possibly the Siemens rebrand, the SET-MC-CW), but otherwise no clues as to this system’s full identity.
This system & the one above say the same script twice, just with different voice actors.
With this one the female voice actor only says the Spanish part.
I have no clue: your guess is as good as mine as to what those systems are (since like I said that message can be heard in two different videos on two different systems).
1: Yeah, I know you know that one already.
2: According to the comments on that video that’s a Honeywell Deltanet FS90 (which I forgot about until now).
3: What about the female voice actor & the brand of the system though?
4: Oh, really? Not sure I recognize the female part of the voice message or the voice actor though.
5: Alright. What about the two different systems it’s used on though? (one of which like I said has that high-pitched intermittent tone you hear in that video, while the other makes use of both a several-second 400 Hz tone along with the whoop tone from Notifier’s DVC)
6: Ah, so I got that right then I guess.
7: Yeah, thought so.
8, 9, & 10: Alright. What about the system brands though?
