Can you see if you can get a closer picture of it? If you can’t, I understand but I just figured I would ask.
Sorry, I don’t have any right now, but I’ll try to get some next week.
If you can’t, don’t worry about it. It just looked like it was upside-down when mounted like that.

Its one of the new TrueAlertES signals; they look like that.
Yeah I only just figured it out now. It’s fine. It still looks weird but I know that is how it is supposed to be mounted.
Well, there really aren’t many pictures of Truealert ES speaker/ strobes yet, so I might as well try to get some, especially of the white ceiling mount versions. They’re actually pretty discrete if you don’t know what you’re looking for, which is the point.
My current school has old Autocall single stroke bells coded to 4x4. My previous schools have had Spectralert Advances and one had old unknown bells, also coded to 4x4.

Yeah that does make sense since that is how the alarm seemed to be mounted in maxshaw’s picture.
So here is a good picture of a wall mounted Truealert ES speaker. I’ll get a picture of a ceiling mounted one later this week hopefully (I have to figure out how to be discrete lol).
This particular alarm was just installed last week, so it’s brand new!
Here’s the ceiling mounted one. The fire lettering is a brighter red in real life, I don’t know why it’s so dark in this picture.
I really do not like that design. I wish they just used the smaller strobe like on the wall-mount devices.
The ceiling mount version I also agree doesn’t look really nice. It’s basically an intercom speaker with a strobe fused to it.

And to think thats also what the horn/strobes look like…
Yeah, I’m not a fan of the design, but I will admit, the sound quality is pretty good on them.
This version of the TrueAlert used to install on the ceiling is the reason why I don’t particularly like ceiling mount alarms. The only thing that I think that looks good on the ceiling are smoke and heat detectors.

Circular alarms with a strobe in the middle look fine though. It’s definitely more to blend stuff in and saves a lot of space/time than to rewire original alarm backboxes.
I’ve seen smoke detectors on the wall before, which don’t look very good…
I have been singing professionally with a church choir in my area for just over a month now, and we had a fire alarm test last week during and after rehearsal, so here’s the system. The church is one large building made up of four distinct structures, all of which were recently connected to form the one large structure. By far, the notification appliances are the most interesting part.

UPDATE
As of this weekend, the music and administrative wing have had a full upgrade.

All AT and System Sensor devices in this part of the campus have been removed*
So its not really much of a change then as it now has the same alarms as the main sanctuary and vestibule now?

That’s the only real change I have seen. I haven’t been into the other parts of the campus so I don’t know if the Fire-Lite and/or System Sensor devices in the other wing are still there. I do know that the older Simplex devices in the chapel and education wings are still intact.
