What alarms have you heard in public?

What are all of the alarms that you have heard in public (not at home or while working on a system)?

Here is what I have heard:
Daycare/preschool/church (Fist alarms I ever heard)- Wheelock NS and Simplex TrueAlert horn/strobes- all set to continuous

Elementary School- Simplex 2901-9838 horns on 4903-9105 strobe plates- on continuous

Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN)- Notifier 3030??? voice evac. It was just a temporal-3 tone and I heard it through Wheelock 15w bullhorn speakers in the ambulance bay.

My local event center- Wheelock EH-series horns on Simplex 4903-9101 strobe plates- on continuous

Disney Dream Cruise Ship- I heard the general alarm, which is 900hz tones from the PA system and blasts of the ship horn. They also had Potter select-a… remote strobes.

Orlando Airport Gate Door Alarm- Newer style Wheelock MT with blue strobe- set on “siren” tone

My (Old) Local High School- This was in 4th grade. We were there for a music performance rehearsal in the auditorium. They have Pyrotronics rebranded Wheelock 7002T horn strobes in that area. They were on continuous. Unfortunately, they were all very sick and you could hardly hear them.

Elementary School (Portables)- Simplex TrueAlert horn/strobes- on continuous

Middle School- Simplex 4100U voice evac inside-This Message and TrueAlert horn strobes outside- on continuous

Other Church- Autocall 4100ES voice evac with SmartSync TrueAlert speaker/strobes- default message

(New) High School- Siemens FireFinder XLS voice evac. They have Siemens SL and SL2 series speaker/strobes. The system playsthis message.

So far just the original SpectrAlerts (on temporal 3 as one might expect) that were at the elementary school I used to to go: mostly for drills, but once for an actual fire! (nothing serious though)

Gentex Commander 3’s

Electronic 4903’s (not the TrueAlert sounding ones)

TrueAlert ES’s

Wheelock EHS-DL1’s

Wheelock MT’s

What did they sound like? I thought all electronic 4903s sounded like TrueAlerts (besides the ones rebranded from Wheelock/Gentex).

Like this one (at least to me these don’t sound like TrueAlerts)

They do not (at least 100%): some do, but most sound like the one in the video that FireAlarmGuy12 posted.

What? Last I checked Simplex has never had anything to do with Wheelock or Gentex concerning their 4903-series!

Preschool: Fire Bells of some sort

1st Elementary School (CA, TK-1st Grade): Wheelock NS-24MCW and System Sensor SpetrAlert Advance P2/4R (1 Advance in the front office), Signal: Code 3

2nd Elementary School (CA, 2nd grade- 1st sem. 3rd grade) System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance P2/4R (inside), HRK (Outside), SPSR (Portables, for some reason, they put wall mounts on the ceiling), Signal: Code 3, Silent Knight Fire Message

3rd Elementary School (1st in MO, 2nd Sem. 3rd Grade-COVID), Mechanical Horns (don’t remember the make/model), Signal: Did not sound the alarms during drills for some reason.

1st Middle School (The District has it as Junior High though, 1st Sem. 6th Grade), System Sensor P2RL, Signal: Code 3 (only MO brick and mortar school that sounded the alarms during drills in my experience)

2nd Middle School (2nd Sem. 6th grade-1st Sem. 7th Grade) System Sensor P2RL, Signal: Did not sound alarms during drills (Supposedly, the test the system over the summer)

Virtual School (2nd Sem. 7th grade-Current): First Alert Smoke/CO Alarm, Signal: Code 3

Parking Garage in the area of Jordan Valley Memorial Health Center, Springfield, MO: Gentex Commander 3 Outdoor Horn Strobe and possibly SpectrAlert Advance or L-Series horns (I only saw the outdoor unit, but the sound coming from the outdoor unit and inside the garage were different)

The 4903-9224 (Mini-horn Strobe) is a rebranded Gentex GX90S-4-15/75WR

See @FireAlarmGuy12’s post. Also, the 4903-9235 is a rebranded MT-24-WM, and the 4903-9247 is a rebranded AS-2475W-FR.

Oh, okay: had no idea any of those were part of the 4903-series.

Most of the alarms that I have heard have been in schools. Gamewell E3 voice evac in my elementary, SpectrAlert HS (both advance and classic) in my middle school, and Notifier DVC Voice evac in my High school.

Alarms I’ve heard in person include:

Elementary School 1: Simplex 2901-9838

Elementary School 2: EST Genesis Xenon Speaker Strobes. What was odd about this is that it used EST voice evac but only the message and no tone.
There were also System Sensor L-Series Horn Strobes in the portables that I could hear faintly.

Middle School: EST Genesis Xenon Horn Strobes, EST Integrity Horn Strobes, System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance orn Strobes, and EST Genesis LED Speaker Strobes (With EVAX tone and message.)

High School: Everything is the same except there were no Integrities and the LED devices were horn strobes instead.

I also have faintly heard EST Genesis horn strobes from the top floors of a hotel (The ones on the bottom weren’t active)

I have witnessed other fire alarm activations, but I don’t remember the NAs that I heard.
