Alright. I have a few stories.
Winnipeg Beach School, Third Grade
It was in November, and the school was preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences. The janitor was sweeping dust in the main entrance. Apparently, he hadn’t swept in a while, and there was enough dust to set off the smoke detector!
In case you don’t already know, I suffered from severe fire drill anxiety from grade 2 right through grade 6. To prevent me from having a panic attack, the principal would tell me whenever we were having a fire drill, and would let me go outside where the alarms weren’t so loud. Well, this time, I didn’t know, so I instantly assumed it was the real deal.
I ran outside as fast as I could, and hid under the play structure. The alarms went off for five minutes, after which classes began filing back in. I got heck from my first grade teacher, but I didn’t listen to her, mainly because she was a heartless old hag.
Shooting Star Casino, Summer 2010
My dad, sister and I were in the pool, and my grandma was in the casino. I had just dove into the pool. Just as I touched the bottom, I could hear a faint buzzing noise. When I resurfaced, I was shocked to see that the -9838s were going off!
My first instinct was to panic. My dad attempted to reassure me that it was “just a panic alarm”, while a security guard ran through the pool room. About one minute later, the alarms were shut off, and the alarms did three rounds of audible silence before the panel was reset.
Winnipeg Beach School, Seventh Grade
Thats all for now. I may post more later.
