What is the next alarm in your quest?

Ouch; know what that’s like.
Don’t worry; if my old K-8 school finally renovates this summer and I’m able to get various alarm parts, then I’ll make sure you get one.

I have some extra 4050-80s. They need some minor repairs though, but I’m sure I could fix them, its not that bad.

Thank you both so much. I don’t mind how you give them away I just want at least on to say I have one in my collection.
(I’ll still be on the hunt for a good deal on Edwards 892’s though)

If you’re interested, I could sell one of the 4050-80s to you. Just send me a PM and we can talk about it more if you’re serious about it.

OK, but after looking through a couple of your videos, you don’t seem to have a spare 2901-9833 horn since I was hoping to get a 2903 strobe plate with a -9833 horn, but that’ll do just fine (I would assume you’re not going to give away said horn).

Since you never PM’ed you, I will PM you about the trade.

No actually (I wish I could take that back because that makes it sound like I forced myself into collecting alarms or something) I really like 4050-80 series light plates from Simplex.

I would prefer to have the wall mount version.

Unfortunately, all I have are the ceiling mount versions, but with a bit of luck, you can find a wall-mount cover for it somewhere. All my RSSs work.

I’ve been trying to get a low frequency sounder strobe but they are too expensive and I do not trust the listing

Stromberg type M1802-25 6" bell. My old school had them, can’t seem to find them anywhere. No info online about them either.
Also, a Wheelock MT

-Pretty much any simplex incan. light plate, but a 2903 if I had to choose, due to nostalgic appeal.
-I’m making a HL2 map with 4040s equipped with square double-projectors, and it would be nice to have a real-life example.
-A SpectrAlert classic for the pure irony of owning something that caused me so much fear as a kid.
-A BG-10. Any building that had spectralerts had them.
-Amseco motor horn just to see how the bloody thing works.
-One of those United Security FHS-24s, simply because it’s a seldom seen alarm and I’ve had no luck finding any recordings of them.

I would love to find Sears, Dicon, or Westclox smoke detector units with squealer horns made between 1976 to 1978. My parents had all these alarms in their house when I was very little and I was absolutely terrified of them especially the Dicon unit. Im keeping my eye out for these units in thrift or second hand stores. I have had no luck so far but Im still trying. All these units were very popular around that time period as I had neighbours who had the same alarms.

All those detectors were 9 volt battery powered by the way. Im also trying to locate the Nortron TR77 smoke detector (9 volt battery powered). I have the TR88 (The AC model). But I am unable to find a way to set it off. I even asked my landlord and he doesn’t know. Because of the alarm’s age it can’t be hooked up to a modern system I don’t think. Anyone out there can help me let me know. The TR77 and TR88 both have squealer horns and were very popular around 1978 to 1980 but are almost impossible to find now. Even finding info online about them is hard to find.

I’m looking for a Simplex 2904 series Light/Strobe that is the red variant, since I already have the white strobe variant. I am also looking for some other alarms including:
a Simplex 4903-9101 strobe plate
a Wheelock 7001
and a Siemens UMMT horn strobe

A simplex 4040 or 4050…why, you may ask? To use as a doorbell and scare the living hell out of my family

I can’t tell you how overused that pun is

What pun? The thing about “living hell?”

Oh, and I bought that 2903 + 2901-9833 from you.

Yes, I know. Thank you for a good transaction.
I was quoting the doorbell thing. Multiple users in the past have suggested doing that. lol

I did that recently with the Federal 450-D Vibertone Horn Andrew gave me. I wish I would have gotten video of it! The UPS guy came buy and my mom was in the office next to the frontdoor where the doorbell is. It went off! “BAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” My mom yelled at the UPS guy and then she figured it out and came and yelled at me. I got in trouble, but it was priceless…
