the mostrare one that I have seen is prob a wheelock 7002t

that’s where i saw it. did it happen to be near Conroe, Texas?

an IBM 4037 at OSU ATI in Wooster, Ohio.

I have never seen those do you have a picture?

No, I unfortunately do not have any photos.

huh still pretty cool tho

Mine was actually in Port Lavaca, TX. Unfortunately, it’s long gone, since they’re replaced with Gentex Amber Horn Strobes.

i see. not the worst trade, i’d say. i saw a similar setup in the outer banks, NC, but they were blue strobe weatherproof horn strobes.

why does ohio get to always have the cool old stuff?

either the odd wheelock thing i mentioned, a cerberus pyrotronics 7002/4t (located in the national cryptological museum), a federal signal 450d + old font VALS (located in the maryland science center.) i can also recall seeing some of whatever the horn only model is of the 7002, but it has been about 2 years since i was there, so i have little evidence. i have also seen simplex 4903-9101 and 2902-9732, but sadly, it was on an EST3 system, and most of the pull stations and all of the detectors were replaced. i have other rare device sightings, but i feel that this is enough.

IDK, but I think it’s due to new FA systems being too expensive to install.

My alarms were at my elementary school
The 7002tS abd BG6s

My local high school has hundreds of Cerberus Pyrotronics rebranded 7002t’s. There was a science museum at a college near me that had simplex 4051 horns behind flush mount trim plates an chevron pulls. That building is now used for another purpose (idk what) and the science museum is now in a brand new building with a Siemens voice evac system. I hope the old system is still in use in the old building but I have no way of knowing as it is no longer open.

I once saw a 4040 grey horn with a chrome diaphragm.

I haven’t really seen too many “rare” devices where I’ve been. Probably the rarest would be Simplex 2903s. I’ve only seen them twice in-person: at my hometown’s public library and Willowbrook Mall in New Jersey. The other “rare” device I’ve seen would be Pyrotronics HSD-24Fs (Wheelock 7001Ts) at the Nittany Lion Inn at Penn State. I never took pictures of the 2903s, but I do have a video of the HSD-24Fs in action.

In my old high school, there used to be faraday fire alarms in the boys football locker room. And they are still available I believe. But they are disconnected. One of the fire alarms is a Faraday 5640 horn. Below it is a FIRE incandescent flashing light probably from around 1968, when the school was opened.

No clue how rare this is. But the Meijer in Florence KY has over 7 MASS Non ADAs with Green Strobes in a System with L Series.

Probably the United Security Products FHS-24 and a NATSCO rebrand mech. horn strobe.
