Inspector’s test valves with gauges indicating 0 psi. That means there’s no water pressure in sprinkler pipelines.

It’s hiding in shame.

Let me tell you all about a thankfully defunct awful install job at the hideous Government Center Garage (which is being downsized) in downtown Boston.

It had a Simplex system which was replaced this year with a new Simplex system. The old system was an abomination. Non-weatherproof devices galore in an open parking garage (especially pulls - the reason why many had been replaced with 4099-9004’s is probably because the old ones kept going bad from exposure to the elements), horn/strobes all over the place (MT-24-LSM’s and weatherproof TrueAlerts) on what was supposed to be a voice system (there was a random E70 next to one of the stairwells, and some TrueAlert speaker/strobes), sloppy hanging wiring, let’s just say it’s a good thing this system is gone.

The new system is much better done and is fully weatherproofed in the open areas. (2099-9144 pulls on their special backboxes, ET70WP speaker/strobes. Suprised they didn’t use TrueAlert ES since those are available in a weatherproof version.)

The new One Congress office tower that’s next to this garage has an Autocall system, probably installed by NSG Life Safety. (I initially thought it was on the same Simplex system but got suspicious when, off the new garage elevator lobby, I noticed a door marked “Garage Fire Command Center”. Further investigation discovered what appeared to be Autocall logos on the pulls in the tower.)

The garage is also attached to a recently-built apartment and condo tower (The Sudbury) which has a Notifier system.

Every. Single. Ducking. Trouble

Active alarm, supervisory, trouble, sprinkler pipe flow. That is a lot worse than what I found recently

This fire alarm system is basically DEAD.
Repair work might cost more than a total replacement.

Did someone cut the SLC loops?

I think you just won the entire thread… There’s no way to rivalize with that

I joke but really, that’s probably the most concerning fail I’ve ever seen.

All I have to say about this is how do you manage to fail this badly?

Go to any other est panel. It’ll almost definitely have multiple troubles

The only possible worse scheme is a fire alarm system after a real fire.

EST in a nutshell LOL

WAIT WTF FLR 98??? I didn’t even see that! Waterflow alarm active on floor 98

This is perhaps the most peculiar thing I’ve seen on a system. I took this photo a few years ago and had completely forgotten about it until now.

How they managed to do that, I don’t know. That show techs at their finest!

It’s also amazing how they managed to cut out the wall perfectly like that to go halfway in between.

Maybe it’s a temporary construction wall? (It looks like it might be.)

In any case this would be the drywaller’s fault - the horn/strobe or speaker/strobe definitely came first.
