Just out of curiosity, what web browser(s) do you use, and why? Feel free to share both your desktop and mobile preferences.

My desktop browser of choice is Firefox, since it’s fast, secure, has a ton of useful extensions (such as https://www.facebook.com/about/messenger-for-firefox Facebook Messenger for Firefox, DownloadHelper, Personas, etc.), and has a ton of features geared specifically towards web developers right me built into it. Additionally, Firefox is made by Mozilla, which is a non-profit organization, which has some great The Mozilla Manifesto principles concerning their products and their organizations. Those principles help create a much better product, in my opinion, than a company just looking for a profit.

I have some older laptops that I regularly use as well; on one, I use Safari 5, and on the other, I use http://icab.de/ iCab (which is another great browser, in my opinion).

For mobile browsing, I use Safari for iOS since it works really well in my opinion, and it is firmly integrated with iOS. Also, Safari for iOS 7 has some awesome new features.

Note: The order in which the browsers appear in the poll is completely random.

Explore, i use it the most however i do use google crome a bit to.

On the PC side it’s primarily Firefox although I do use Chrome on my main PC to monitor a few gmail accounts, and on the Mac side I use TenFourFox (all my Macs are PowerPC except for two, and those are 68k machines  ) with the occasional visit to Safari when TFF acts up.

Hmm, I didn’t know about TenFourFox until now. I’ll have to try it out on the two older computers mentioned in my first post.

It doesn’t support any plugins, so no flash and no adblock unfortunately. But it is miles better than using an outdated and slow version of Firefox.

I have never used fire fox

Chrome is #1 for me. I used Safari pretty exclusively until a few years ago - some bug began to cause random crashes, and of course Apple couldn’t fix it within the timeframe of my patience. If you haven’t tried Chrome with Adblock Plus and Tampermonkey, you’re in for a treat.

Safari on iOS works well though.

My main browser of choice is Firefox, for the same reasons U8oL0 described. My backup is Chrome in case something doesn’t work right in Firefox. My main iOS browser is Chrome as well, but I’ll occasionally use Safari or Yahoo Axis (just to be different).

I use Firefox, with my backup also being Chrome, because it is simple and fast. Firefox is slower, but I like how buttons can be dragged around, and there are a lot of addons, themes, and plugins.

I like the features, UI, add-ons, and such on Firefox. Granted, Chrome is minimalistic and fast, but I just like the “feel” of Firefox.
The speed of the browser is not the weakest link with my godawful setup anyway, unless you’re using Internet Explorer. I had to do that recently… shudders

Internet Explorer 9 (I think) starts up way to slow, especially with an actual website as a homepage. I had to set about:blank as the homepage for IE so it wouldn’t take so long to start up.

I use Safari as my main browser and Firefox as a back-up.

Safari and Camino (Camino is PowerPC based)
