Found a whole system of these and they’re all active. They are only at the entrance/exits of the store. These are the only two I could get pictures of.
Those aren’t 7002T’s!
What you’re looking at is known as the United Security Products FHS-24.
It was used a lot by Walmart (which owns Sam’s Club.)
Wow, never heard of them. Are they just rebrands of the 7002ts?
I have not a clue
Tbh they are probably inspired by the 7002 and probably don’t skip a beat every time the strobe flashes
They are an entirely different design and are not a rebrand.
Wow: heck of a find! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an actual system with those! As others have said those are United Security Products (USP) FHS-24s, a very rare knockoff of Wheelock’s 7000-series horn/strobes. You think you could get much better pictures of those? (as there are very few of them right now)
I can try but I don’t go there very often as I was visiting family when I saw these. It’s too bad I can’t get in touch with the store to see if I could aquire them if replaced.
Best of luck in getting more photos of them!
Why? It’s definitely important to save devices that are that rare.
I’ve got a photo of one too, also from a Sam’s Club:
From what I understand, they are electronic signals, not electromechanical, and they have a pretty distinctive sound. Colin had a bunch of them, but the ones he had were the more uncommon side-strobe variant:
Miss ya buddy.
I have never seen those in person.
There is a Walmart store in my area that was built in the 80s. It may have had those alarms at one point, but they have long been replaced if the store ever had them.
Yea those are electronic horns, and thebluecfl had some
Well I should rephrase that. I don’t know who at the store to get in contact with, but I will see what I can do to save them.
I see that now, the strobe on top of the horn is what told me 7002/t. But now that I look at it better the grille is different than the open grille 7002/t.
Yes: that’s what Robert said above.
Best of luck!
Mhm: 7000-series horn/strobes & 30-series horns have a square grille pattern, while the USP FHS-24 has a round grille pattern.
