This is the sound file of a Wheelock MT horn’s hi-lo tone. I downloaded this from what was probably the Wheelock website in October of 2021, and I recently found it on an old hard drive. They had all of the tones available for download, but this was unfortunately the only one I downloaded. That website unfortunately seems to be gone now.
Just look up “Eaton sound files”. There is a website with bell recordings, all the MT tones, and all the Wheelock SafePath voice messages. Here’s the link: https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/products/safety-security-emergency-communications/alarms-and-signaling-devices/wheelock-and-safepath-sound-clips.html
That’s actually the page I tried finding just now without success (including to see if the Wayback Machine had archived it).
They got the NS/ZNS/Exceeder wrong and labeled it ‘AS’
Yeah: no idea what happened there to be honest.
The code 3 tone is the AS tone but the continuous tone is the NS/ZNS/Exceder/Eluxa tone.
The LED Exceders and Eluxas actually sound different but you have the right idea.
It does sound slightly different but it is also hard to tell when the devices are being tested in different environments. It would be interesting to have a single recording comparing all of Wheelock’s electronic horns.
There’s food for thought. I will be getting some MTs shortly so it’ll get interesting. I kinda want to collect some ES, EH(S), AES, NS (I already have ZNS), Exceder, LED Exceder and Eluxa horns.
Don’t forget the MIN and MIZ (both the first generation one and the modern one), the Eluxa multitone/addressable multitone, and all of the outdoor devices.
Thanks! I have been trying to find that website again for four years!
I’d probably win a small loan of a million dollars before getting an MIN. Let alone a MIN-24-WS, which supposedly dOeSnT ExIsT! (kidding it’s probably extinct )
