Would a System Sensor MDL work on my Autocall MiniLarm Panel?

I have a vintage Autocall MiniLarm Panel installed in my Basement that I’m going to use for future System Tests. I want to wire up a System Sensor MDL to the NAC 1 Terminals on the Panel so I can have the Strobes on my Alarms synchronize.

My problem is I don’t want the Sync Module to fry the Panel if the Module is too new for the Panel to handle. Does anyone know if the MDL is compatible on my Autocall Panel?

As long as the MiniLarm outputs 24v DC it should be fine.

It does output 24VDC.

Okay. This was shocking. The MDL started to smoke a bit. HOW CAN A SYNC MODULE SMOKE FROM A PANEL!??!

Update. After some troubleshooting, the MDL does still have life in it. It still synchronizes Alarms like it should. But Now I know not to connect anything to that Panel anymore.

You should check it with a multimeter. Either the panel is not actually outputting proper 24vdc, the MDL is failing, or you messed some wiring up.

The Component in the Panel that outputs 24VDC is going bad so it outputs 24VDC but with a bit of FWR.

Is swearing allowed here, or no? I’m sorry, I really don’t know :grimacing:

I censor it to keep it family friendly

Ok I see. Just be careful, ok

That’s the best way to do it. Let the people who are okay with it see it, but hide it from those who aren’t okay with it. Obviously, offensive stuff isn’t okay.

You know, I do swear, but I do a spoiler for them. I always do what he did. I do the Astrid to censor the word. But really no swearing like full words.

I don’t swear on this site at all for the better good.
