I now know what 3030-related item I’m going to keep an eye out for.
Is the Edwards protocol the same as the System Sensor Eclipse protocol? I have not found any information about the EFG-250 on datasheets or brochures, but I did see that the XLS-3000 supports the Eclipse protocol, which also supports 125 detectors and 125 modules.
No, Edward’s and Honeywell/Notifier/System Sensor have different protocols to transmit and receive data to devices. For many years Honeywell sold and installed private label versions of the EST-3 and EST-2 systems. More recently after acquiring Notifier, they severed ties with Edward’s. With a great deal of legacy Edward’s equipment installed at Honeywell customer sites they developed the EFT250 interface card with allows Edward’s devices on a Honeywell XLS3000, XLS140 or XLS120 system. I installed several at a school during a partial system upgrade and they have some quirks but work well.
Do you know when the XLS-EFG-250 was discontinued? I cannot find any mention of it in any datasheet, including some datasheets from the 2000s. Was it discontinued at the same time the Eclipse series devices were introduced?
The XLS-EFG-250 is a newer product developed by Honeywell, in about 2017-2018 to bridge Edwards and Honeywell components. Because it’s exclusive to legacy Honeywell systems and probably only available internally, information is limited.
Was the XLS-1000 in production until the XLS-EFG-250 was introduced? Also, where were you able to find this information?
I’ll look through my paperwork to see if I can find a date when the XLS1000 series was discontinued. I used to work for Honeywell.
Edwards discontinued the production of specialized devices for Honeywell in December of 2016.
