I’m guilty of so many of these things. Making it a point to look for the alarms when you go into a building, checking alarms when you see a camera flash, questioning why a building wouldn’t have a fire alarm system, jumping whenever you hear a 60 Hz/120 Hz noise (in my case, the buzzer on my clothes dryer), being able to tell how old a building is by what alarms they have, and so many more.

You know you like fire alarms if:

    You’re on eBay every day searching for alarms (guilty)
    You get excited when you hear an alarm go off (guilty)
    You have dreams that involve alarms or fire drills (guilty)
    You can tell how loud the alarms in a building are because you know which alarms they have (guilty)
