In a gang-related attack outside Aurora Central High School, a 17-year-old girl was shot and wounded. The wounds caused her to be paralyzed. Luis Enrique Guzman-Rincon, 20, fired shots from a car while students were standing outside the high school, trying to shoot at a group of students who were believed to be gang rivals. Guzman-Ricon was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Not to make light of that situation, but its seems funny to me to read Aurora, CO and gang violence in the same sentence. Maybe its because I’m not as familiar with that area, but its not the first place to come to mind when talking about gang bangin’.
Well, I mean early in comparison to most other school boards in our province/country. Most of the high schools have a later start time of 9:00 or so. It’s just us and a few others with the 8am start time.
I’m aware. But I was thinking more along the lines of what you said when comparing it to Compton. Big difference between a gang of punk kids emulating the Bloods and the real thing. I tend to chuckle when I think of smaller-scale cities in the Heartland and how their crimes compare to the larger cities.
40 hours and done though, never any homework or papers to write, labs to do, tests to study for, etc… my workload dropped considerably after i graduated college and got a 40hour/wk job.
