Mhm: that’s what Edwards’ current Signature Optica Series uses (which is a good example of them being ahead of everyone else, & also why they’re one of the few good companies still around today if you ask me).

The SmartSync protocol has been reverse-engineered by several individuals in the past few months. The SmartSync module itself is also not proprietary, and neither are several panels that support it (notably the 4006, 4008 and 4010 - all user-programmable [4010 does have a small exception because you cannot program add-in cards through the front panel, you must use the programmer for that]).
