That Target doesn’t play music over it’s speakers?
I haven’t been to a Target in years, but Walmart doesn’t either. The one I went to in Jacksonville did.
By “the one”, are you referring to a Walmart or a Target?
Sorry, a Walmart in Jacksonville used to play music over the speaker system whenever I lived there.
My local Walmart used to play music over it’s speakers, but they quit doing so a few years ago.
Maybe that Walmart in Jacksonville has stopped playing music over their loudspeakers, as well.

These were both uploaded in 2013.
I’ve been to a Wal-Mart that opened in 2006 with a voice evac system, and they used the speaker/strobes (Wheelock S8 Series on the sales floor, E70s in the bathrooms) as the PA / music.
All of the Walmarts around me have ceiling mounted SpectrAlert Advanced’s/Classics, and one has Wheelock AS’s wall mounted.
Yes. My local Walmart has ceiling-mount Spectralert classics. They have the wall-mount versions in the restrooms.
I haven’t been in the restrooms at Walmart in a year or two. Oddly enough, I didn’t pay attention to the strobe in that room, which is weird, because I pay attention to the fire alarms EVERYWHERE.
It seems typical in my area for buildings that have ceiling-mount NAs elsewhere to have wall-mount NAs in the restrooms. There are exceptions however.
Ours is the same way. For a while they didn’t play music, but they do now.
My local Targets don’t even have PA speakers on the ceiling. They just have them on the poles.
Same with mine, they are the kind that can be adjusted to aim up down, right?
Yes.
Every Target that I have been to has been that way, so they might all be like that. I also saw a video of a Target in Hollywood, which also had those speakers.

Yeah. I also read on Wikipedia that Target doesn’t play music in any of it’s stores. The only music I hear at Targets comes out of the televisions in the electronics section.

That’s true, now that I think of it.
Perhaps that Target doesn’t play music is the reason they don’t have PA speakers on the ceilings. If they’re not playing music, they don’t really need as many speakers.
Well, they still need them for announcements, so they need to make sure that the sound can be heard from everywhere in the store, which is the whole point of a PA system.
The Walmarts close to me don’t play music, but they still have speakers everywhere. The speakers at Target can cover a larger area, since they are on a column and designed to project sounds, versus a speaker on the ceiling that only covers a few aisles.
