5 Amps for the alarm relay, 25 for the NAC relays.
I wired everything as the schematic points out, and I have quadruple checked that. I just think that one of the diodes shorted on the button panel because at that time they were exposed.
May I ask why you need such a big power supply, let alone the big relays?
I kind of overestimated what was going to be on the system. I went by the tags on the alarms and thought that I would have 5 or 10 of them in the system. Also the relays are cheap.
:!:
Turns out that the relay is the problem. It’s shorted.
When I hooked it up to diagnose, it latched and smoke started coming from the solder joint on the button. It then sparked. My friend quickly unplugged it, and I know for sure that it’s the relay. Ordering a new relay… (also the new coder works)
well thats not good ![]()
May I ask what this coder is?
Also I think you should of used a lower control voltage, say 3.3v or 5v so you can use logic circuits.
A good example for a low voltage coding “device” would be the 555 timer.

The original might have actually worked after further investigation.
Looking good my friend. You have my fav pull and horn/strobe!!!
Haha cool! I also have 3 AV-32’s with 2DCD horns.
Nice! When do you plan to test the panel?
Once the new relay comes.
By the way, do you know how to program? I heard that you were making an addressable panel. I may be interested in you helping program the QA-3400 coming eventually.
I know how to program. I would be thrilled to help!
Alright. Eventually, I’ll have to contact you when I’m ready. (likely in a year or two)
That’s fine. Maybe you can help with mine! Do you have any “legit” panels?
no, but you can get an MS-2 on ebay for $120

i dont need one lol
if you could determin if you will use an ardiuno or not for the panel i may help you with, then i could start the code devolopment this spring break. we have a hole week off!!!

Yeah, I’ll be using an Arduino.
That sounds great!
i will work on the code on some of my spare time. Anyways i need to dev the code for my panel and some things will be universal! ![]()
