Stuff like ademco vista panels also use multiplex with remote transponders and everything.

Firecom 8X systems are basically wired the same way as your everyday security system! Just on a way larger scale. Security systems have a main box that is the brains of the system that has terminals for connecting devices to it. The “control panel” of an 8X connects the same way to a Terminal Transmitter Box (the brains of the system) as a security keypad would do.
