Sure you can. I do it all the time if I know the place is going to be torn down.
I had a dream last night that I was just starting high school. I remember seeling a grey 6" adapabel on the wall. As I was looking around, I saw this one class that was all about fire alarms! They had fire alarms everywhere! I was so cool! I was thinking," I can’t wait to tell the schumin web that my school has a fire alarm class!"
But, I woke up soon, and realized the dream wasn’t real.
Also, I had one a couple of nights ago. I owned a wal-mart which had 6" and 10" adaptabels. I decided to have a fire drill, so I went to this room which had “Mechanical” on it, so I went in. There was an Edwards 270-SPO with a 6" bell right above it, I mean RIGHT
above it. So, I took a screwdriver, opened the pull up, and flipped the switch. The bell went off. I went out of the mechanical room to see if the alarms were going off, but the others weren’t. So, I tried looking for another pull station to pull down, and thats when I woke up. Wierd.
Also, have you ever had dreams where you want to pull the alarm, but you think you’ll get in trouble? I have lots of times!
2 last night:
1: 2: I dreamt I was at a mall where they were replacing the alarms (892s) with Commander 3s. They tested one section and one alarm’s strobe was flashing 5 times per second!
2: 2: I dreamt about this Duracell commercial from the '80s where they talked about smoke detectors and it showed smoke drifting up and triggering numerous alarms.s
1 rather freaky one Fri. night:
I dreamt that a ghost had “haunted” a Cyclone next to a school (a recurrent location). The siren activated, but it sounded like one of those machines at DQ™ that make Blizzards™. Then it decreased in pitch slightly, grew in sizethen returned to it’s normal pitch, except a little louder. It kept doing this, pretty soon it was too loud to put up with, so I ran behind the school building. It “grew” a couple more times, then it was too loud to handle then. So we went inside. Again after a couple of “growths” it was too loud. So we rushed downstairs, passing by a -9833. We went down several flights, eventually ending up in B4. We still could hear the siren, a little bit especially after the sound got so loud it broke some windows, but then it faded out. So we came back upstairs, went outside and it was still going but softly. Suddenly, BOOM! It blew up in a shower of sparks. The smoke wente into the building and triggered the FA system.
Last night I dreamed that I was testing the fire alarm system in my ES and I found the alarms in the gym were not sounding. So I did what twoplyboy does and smacked the alarms with a screwdriver. They sounded for a couple seconds then stopped. After that, I was talking to the principal and gave him two options:
- Keep the system all Simplex and install two new TrueAlerts for $120 each
- Call a company called Norris and have them come and install two new AS’s at $40 each.
When I told him the TrueAlert idea, he did not like it, because the school district did not want to pay $260 for two TrueAlerts plus some steel cages ($10 each) to protect them. When I told him about the AS’s, he was liking that better since the school district would only need to pay $100 for two AS’s and two steel cages.
Before the new AS’s could be installed, I woke up.
Before I woke up, I saw a triple-bay 4002 inside a mechanical room. It was not labeled as a 4002. The door was open and there were computer parts inside!
I just came up with a new word firealarmophile.
Firealarmophile- One who has abnormal dreams and or fantasizes about fire alarms.
hahahahahaha
And that’s appropriate how?
putting ophile on something does not make it inappropriate…

Last night I had a follow-up where the Commander with the superfast strobe was fixed.
Last night I had one where it was an episode of Dog the Bounty Hunter and a skip (person who skipped their court date) was in their apartment, so they triggered the building’s FA system (9806s/Vibratones).
I had a dream last night that I was testing my school’s Fire Alarm system. Everything was like it in real live except the 4099-9003s were 4099-9001s and there were a lot more pull stations than there were in real life. So, to test each pull station, I would open in and wait for the alarm to go off. The alarm would sound once (The alarms are TrueAlerts) and then shut off. I got to one pull station where it was out of the wall, disconnected . Everything else on the wall was disconnected (outlets, light switches) and there was no drywall either. I asked someone to put the pull station back in a back box since I had a bunch more pulls to test, and when I came back, they put it in a back box meant for an outlet! I can’t remember if I put it in the correct place my self. Anyways, that pull station was only about 3 yards away from another one. And, all (or some) pull stations had Fire-Lite MS-9200 printed vertically and the lower right side of the pull station :?:.
Another dream I had not so recently was I was being chased by my dad in a college campus. He chased me into this building with something at the bottom of the building and wood walkways where I was. It was like a 50 feet drop to the bottom of the building. Anyways, I remember looking and noticing the fire alarms in my dream (which were Simplex TrueAlerts). I don’t remember seeing any pull stations. And if I did, the pulls were probably single action tbars. Anyways, my dad was chasing me some more around the building so I headed for an exit which was a very old staircase with a Wheelock 7002 in it near the bottom. In my dream I thought it was a simplex alarm! Come to think of it, it could of been a 4050 or 4051 but I am pretty sure that it was a 7002.
when I came back, they put it in a back box meant for an outlet!
That would also work for a pull station anyway…

OH NOEZ! NOT THAT
Oy Vey
That would also work for a pull station anyway…
I meant that it was down low by the ground
OH NOEZ! NOT THAT
Oy Vey
lol
You saying Oy Vey reminds me of my dad…He was saying that a lot a little while a go…
Last night I had one in a church that had ESL 449CTs, BG-12s, and alarms that were like the disappearing Standard horn/strobes in Wiley’s college, except instead of large square holes, it was more like speaker grille holes. There was also a strobe on it, rather than above the grille. There also was a -9838 below, but it had holes all along the “indentations”, rather the 3 on the corners.
This weekend I had one where there was a 4903 with horizontal strobe with more vents (spaced closer together) labeled as AC Delco. They were hanging from the ceiling by boxes.
Recently I had one where there was smoke in a gym (it resembled the one at my ES). Anyways, as I was heading out the door, someone pulled a Simpkex 4099-9003 and was fiddling with an Ansul pull station (luckily I got out before the system was activated). Anyways, the gym teacher ran out saying something like Gas Iron was falling from the ceiling. The details are kinda hazy.
Wow I’ve been forgetting to post my FA-related dreams! Well, here’s one from last night:
It was in a book store that was in the basement of a building. Some lady and her son were exiting the store, leaving by a door to the outside, (the basement was only partially underground) and he pulled the station. It looked like an MS-2 without its front and had a clear plastic handle. Anyways, it triggered chimes in Pulse. The thing is, although they looked like regular chimes, they sounded 1 octave lower, sounding like the chimes on an old EM pinball. So I walked to the back of the store, where there was a-9806. I went upstairs to the main building, which had -9833s on -9501 plates. The panel was a 4100 with a white display backlight.
Last night I had repeated dreams of getting my 9838s (hmmm, wonder when that will come true). In one, I also got a blue SpectrAlert (same color as the Commanders seen on the exits at many Lowe’s). Its model was
(Note the second “O”). According to the instruction sheet, there were 4 versions:
was the red version (basically like the RW P1224MC),
was the white version (again, what in RW would be the P1224MCW)
of course, was the blue version, and
was the Black version.
I also got a blue flushmount grille for SpectrAlert horns (looked like the SpectrAlert Advance Mini-Horns)
Last night I had one that was @ a Holiday Inn® style hotel, in the ballroom. Anyways, a lady walked out of the emergency exit, and 1 second later the alarms (9806s, a SpectrAlert Advance and NS in the room itself, classic Spectra outside of the room)sounded in Continuous (the Spectra, Advance and NS were set to C3). I walked around the rest of the hotel which had 9806s which had a 9838-like sound (they do exist, the 9806s at our middle school have the 9838 sound.) The third floor had CP MTL-S15s (like Ben’s) set to a pulsed Chime tone. Then we I was a part of the alarm company, and we installed the CO detector bases and set the system to do the Temporal 4 code when they sounded. (The hotel had TrueAlarms already, we just replaced the bases)
