A while back, when I was in 8th grade, I had a dream that I went around my school pulling multiple alarms once I realized it was a dream. The pulls were 4251-20’s, and the alarms were -9838’s on -9101 plates, like in real life. The alarms in the gym were U-NH-MCS’s (in reality they were LifeAlarm speakers on -9101 plates, 2904 remote strobes, and a -9806 on a 4050-80). My English teacher caught me and yelled at me, and asked me why I did it, and I told him that it was a dream, and that I could do whatever I wanted. For a second I thought that I was actually in trouble.
Last night, I had a dream that I was at some campsite for a school event, and we were eating lunch in a large enclosed pavilion. A fire drill was announced, and when the alarm sounded, nobody noticed it except me (you could barely hear the horn over the kids talking), and I notified everyone, including the teacher, who was right next to it, that the fire alarm was sounding. Everybody got up in unison and left. The signals were (not surprisingly  ) a 6120 on a 2903 strobe, and AV-32 strobe plate with another 6120.
A while back, I was in a school which kind of resembles my middle school. The alarms were already going off. I saw an Edwards 892 horn/strobe going off, but, instead of having the original horn and sound, it had the horn of a Siemens/Faraday U-MMT set to code 3, and it wasn’t very loud for some reason. The strobe flashed at 90 BPM, just like the 892’s at my elementary and middle school. I think there were other alarms as well, but I don’t remember.
Another dream I had a while back, I was at my high school during a fire drill with the same alarms intact (7002T’s). This dream was interesting. I was walking down one of the hallways, and the sound of the alarms were echoing (in reality, it wouldn’t echo) and I was walking in slow-motion. Come to think of it, it kind of sounds like part of a movie of some sort.
Another one: This weekend I dreamt it was this movie where this guy was looking for an FACP, so he goes to this outdoor market-type place, he talks to the merchant at the table, but the merchant gives him a hard time. So the protagonist shoots the merchant using an FCI MS-2 as sort of improvised silencer. Then you see 2901-9835s on the table (the protagonist names them off) on -9101 plates. Here’s what the 9835 looked like:
Last night: It was a hypermarket, and we were doing an early morning test. The panel was probably a Radionics, b/c it was evidently in trouble mode and made the Bee-Doop! sound that Radx keypads make in trouble mode. We set off the alarm (speakers) and it did a multi-alarm sound, like those car alarms that cycle through different signals.
Last night I dempt that I was in some sort of cafeteria at some sort of school campus. At one point, I was by an exit that lead to a little field area outside when I noticed some shifty-looking kids by a pull station, which was mounted across from the door on a round, blue column. It was a single-action T-bar under a Stopper 2. The kid set the Stopper’s alarm off, but was somehow able to pull the alarm through the stopper itself. The alarms (they sounded like a http://firealamrs.co.nr/site/collection/simplex/4903-9236.htm Simplex 4903-9236) sounded in continuous, and I made my way outside.
Later in the dream, they pulled the same pull again, but this time, I don’t think that the Stopper was there. The alarm went of almost immediately after the pull station was activated. There was no pause like there is on a lot of systems.
Last night - it was at WSVH. The majority of the school had the -9833s like they did, but in the (in the dream) newly expanded Gymnasium area, there were EST 792s, a Family Gard FG888D, and a pulled Faraday-Simplex chevron-style station.
Haven’t had any lately, but I remember an really old one where I was at a KMart and the alarms went off. They were bare-bone 9838 horns (Faraday 6120s) behind 2903-9001 plates that were an aqua color. Here’s a rather bad simulation, I took a picture of one of mine then changed the hue in Photoshop.
Also, relating to KMart but not FAs, there was a dream where I was at a KMart on the equator - one set of windows was daylight, the set just beyond was nighttime.
Last Night:
I was at a hospital. The alarms were Simplex TrueAlert ceiling mount speaker/strobes with an LED next to the strobe in the center. When the alarms sounded, the doors closed, the LED illuminated bright red, and A “pre-alarm action” message started to play, advising activation of the nearest pull. Then the alarm went off. It was an Integrity-style alarm in Code-3.
Ok I just remembered a recurring one that I have sometimes. I’ll dream that I’m back in HS, and they still have U-MMTs set to Continuous Horn coded to code-3 by the panel, which I think is an MXL-IQ, like they do in real life. In one dream, I was standing right under a big one in the hall and the strobe started flashing and I cringed, knowing what would come next (In real life, for some reason, the strobes would flash once before the horn sounded. Maybe the NAC the horns were on was delayed?)
In another one, I was in class, and someone announced we were going to have a fire drill, and the alarm would go off at 1:05. So I sat there all nervous and such all day, but they didn’t go off then, but then I woke up.
In real life, I did hate those U-MMTs. They were very loud, and they were everywhere. OTOH, those were nothing compared to the Standard 30As in the 6th and 7th grade part of my MS. As if those aren’t loud enough, they were on continuous! OUCH!!!
I just had a bad (only bad because it’s not real life, IMO) dream last night that I got a 4005 and a Gamewell IdentiFire Network System… but I wake up finding it was a dream.
I had the same thing, but a long time ago I had a dream which I got were two 2901+2903-9833 light plates from a school that they renovated, but it was a bad because it was just a dream when I woke up.
Also, I had a dream a long time ago that I was working on a fire alarm system as a technician in some building with fire alarm bells which were more like Wheelock vibrating bells only and I pulled the pull station and they went off, when they went off for like 60 seconds, I woke up. I might be wrong.
Another one long time ago is when I pulled down a strange white pull station in a school, looked like a homemade version. And then fire alarms went off, which were 4903-9219s, but there was a strobe that wasn’t flashing. There was an LED that looked like it was chasing, like in those chasing Christmas lights and they were white. Something like in the Snake game. Really weird. Then, soon I got in trouble with the principal for pulling the fire alarm. I’m glad it was a dream because I didn’t want that.
BONUS:
I even had another dream a long time ago that I was having a tour of some kind of weird school. The alarms were WHITE Simplex 9846s with no strobes, that is weird! They didn’t go off though because I wasn’t a fire alarm technician in that dream.
I just had a dream last night that there were three Simplex 2903+2901-9833’s outside of my apartment. I remember that they were lit up, but not sounding. Weird, but it’s scary that the light was lit up like on Halloween jack-o-lanterns inside of pumpkins. I told my mom to sound them and they went off! They replaced a light switch that controlled the alarm than those pull stations. I heard them too, but they were really loud! I even saw the back boxes inside had an old pull station, like a Edwards 270 Tear-Dropped Type Pull Station. I never had this weird dream before.
About a night or two ago, I had a dream where I was in the gymnasium of Detroit’s Kettering University, and I saw that there were flush-mount 411F horns, 641 pull stations, and also the older-style 270-SPO models!
I had this sorta wierd one, where I was at an elementary school, and there was a big shelter behind it. Outside of it, there was these wierd rusted school bell covers that had bells still in them. Inside the shelter, It was like some sort of Adaptabel heaven. There was these rows of bins, and there was all types of adaptabels, most of them rusty. I grabbed A couple of the adaptabels that weren’t rusting, and 2 Edwards 270-SPOs and for some reason, this pull which was brand new and in the package still: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nilsvik/352347910/
The alarms are always electromechanical horns, and this time were coded to a 8-1 Simple Coding. In previous dreams they were in Continuous, Code-3 or March Time.
2: It was at a college (actually, a representation of an area of our local Community College) which had a Fire, MNS and CO alarm system. The signals were all SpectrAlert Advance.
Fire alarms: PC2RH.
MNS: “SCW-ALERT” (Basically an SCW with the Amber strobe lens and ALERT lettering, does not exist IRL)
CO: “SCB-CO” (Again, does not exist IRL. Blue, and has “CARBON MONOXIDE” on it, like this)
Anyways, the CO went off, along with an announcement:
I imagine that the MNS system would be used for CO alert IRL?
The fire alarm dream I had last night was a little weird, but I wish the weird part could exsist.
In the dream, I was at a school. The school was having issues with the fire alarm on that particular day. They would silence the alarms, but the alarms would resound about 5 seconds after silencing. At one point, I went to the main office and asked the secretary not to press the system reset button. She informed me that she was only pressing signal silence. She walked with me to the panel (Mircom FX-2000) and demonstrated. While we were looking inside the panel, I noticed the audible silence button. So, I pressed it. The alarms continued ringing. After thinking for a few more seconds, she remembered this special compartment on the panel. She opened it up and there was a volume knob. She turned the knob to the low setting. As she did, the blaring code-3 (from Spectra Classics) died down. There was way less sound. She left the panel like that until the company came out to work on the panel.
I sometimes wish that we could easily turn a knob and tone down horn/strobes. The ones at the school I am at now are LOUD.
I had one last night where it was a large apartment/nursing home and the fire department and I were there to investigate a Central Station Alarm call. The alarms were square with vertical vents (think MT/Integrity) on Simplex 2903 hybrid plates (light on the right side of the wedge, Strobe on the left, basically what you’d get if you put a light one one side and the strobe circuit on the other, like). The alarms sounded in Pulse and sounded like the MT’s Code-3 Tone, however each successive section of the building had a higher pitched horn. One part had them at the B4 pitch the MT’s tone is, the next section was C5, the next C♯5, etc.
2 last night:
1: It was at a mall. As we approached I saw a strobe flash, and when we got to the entrance the alarms were sounding. The alarm outside was a 34-24+WS-24.
2: It was a college dorm that had Edwards 892s. One was outside, then there were ones inside, one replaced by a SpectrAlert Advance on an RFP plate. Not sounding.
