This is the systems in colorado by the metro Denver area,
The westminster mall has 4251-30s in the Dillards clearence area. The malls system consists of simplex 2098 smokes and 2904-9101s. A store has a 4903 remote horn next to a 2904. The maintence guy said the ones in the J.C. Pennys wing are 2904-9001s (which is odd because the rest of the mall has 9101s, and the JCPennys wing was built in 1987, and the rest of the mall in 1977, 1980, and 1985/86. The JCP has spectralert classic ceiling horn strobes and faraday tbars. the sears had the same pulls and gentex GOSs. the mervyns had 4903-9219s and simplex 2099 tbars. the wards had wheelock MTs and bg 10s. the dillards had bronco fire systems tbars, and the new MASS horn strobes. the smokes are fire lite. the mall was torn down in the years 2011-2013. I got a 2904-9101 from the dillards store. the system is a 2120 system tied to a 2001.
The toys R us in broomfeild has a fire lite MS2 system. they have no pulls and wheelock exceders.
The old target building in northglenn had just a 4040 horn on the outside of the building. I never got to see what kind of system it had ( it closed in shortly after my parents graduation in 1979). It was demolished in 2013.

The Eagle Cliff Lodge has a Fire Lite system. The system consists of siemens mini horn strobes and Bg-12s. The smokes are fire lite.

Has EST integritys in several wings, Wheelock CHs with the frosted strobes in the 1979 wing, Spectralert Chime strobes in the hallway, and the rare Spectralert Classic Chime strobes. In the lunch room however, They have a simplex 4045 chime thats gray.
Arbys in Brighton.
They have an odd system because Arby’s was built in 1998, and they have a Fire-lite ms-5 with Simplex 2903-9101s with 2901-9833s, and Simplex 2098 “whiffle balls” and Simplex 4251-20s. So all of them were overstock, or maybe they were discontinued later in the 1990s.
Lochbuie Elementary School

The out buildings have Simplex 4009 NAC extenders in every room, and 4903-9417s With 4099-9103 pulls, and Truealarm smokes. The exteriors have the new MTs. Weld Central Middle school
Has a silent knight system with Spectralert Advance ceiling Horn/strobes with Bg-12s.
Calavry church.
Has an unknown system with ADT pulls and System Sensor MASS’s.
Near the WVU campus there was a Sheetz gas station and it was the first time I’ve ever seen a Simplex system utilized on such a small scale. I’m just assuming the panel was conventional based on the annunciatior. But it had Simpex T-Bars and the notification appliances were ceiling mount TrueAlerts. I was really surprised and thought it was pretty unique.
I’ll agree with that. I guess it really comes down to codes. In my area, I don’t see many parking garages with a fire alarm system. Some other areas I go to, however, have alarms in the parking garage.
If I had to guess in the case of that mall, if you didn’t see any visible speakers (that look like a part of the notification system), horns, or strobes, there probably isn’t any. At the resort I stay in at in Myrtle Beach, the speaker/strobes are visible in the parking garage.
If it’s just your standard 2000-3000 square foot stand alone restaurant, that definitely does seem excessive, but it would be understandable if it were larger than that or part of a bigger building.
I’ve never seen a fast food restaurant with a fire alarm system. Well, I have seen a Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, and a Burger King that had a device mounted high on the wall (or ceiling) that had “SMOKE” printed in large light blue letters. It had a key slot, a piezo, and a couple of LED’s. I can’t find a link…
It’s a System Sensor duct detector annunciator. You see them a lot in smaller buildings that don’t need a full fire alarm system, though there’s a new Sheetz near me that has these along with a Simplex system.
