3rd this year?! Does your school do monthly fire drills?
Yes, as per Arizona State Law, and my Districts Emergency Regulations, Fire Drills are required monthly.
I can’t imagine that. My state doesn’t require monthly drills so there are usually only 2 at the beginning of the year, and sometimes 1 right before the end of the year.
Yea, for me it is the other way around, since Pre-K I have had monthly drills, I can’t imagine doing drills 2 or 3 times a year. All depends on what you have experienced.
we were suppost to have our second fire drill tomorrow but it was canceled for some unknown reason
My state couldn’t do monthly fire drills because the majority of the school year has below freezing weather outside. In the winter, it can get to well below 0°F. Because of this, my school district only has 3 fire drills per year. There are typically two in the fall, and one in the spring. Last year, we had a false alarm when it was -20° outside. We all had to go wait in the gym.
I had my third fire drill on Monday (and second surprise drill of the year) during math class- I could hear the Advances from as far back as the school property line.
My lockdown alarm says “intruder alert! Go into lockdown immediately” makes sound that sounds like doorbell. The doorbell like sound doesn’t seem scary at all. The intruder alert part sounds like a movie!! We also have est 792 (pre integrity) fire alarms. Forgot to plug my ears. A outdoor 7002t sounds hilarious doing code 3!
the one at my high school is like Hard Lockdown panic button activated and the buzzez a bunch of times its pretty scary espeshaly when it malfunctioned and went off ofcorse we did not know that at the time and it was the most scary thing that I have ever gone through
Yep I just had a lock down Drill About Two Weeks Ago
At the beginning of the month, we had a surprised fire drill. Some of the NAC boosters are dead, so the strobes didn’t go off in a few areas. Today, we had a lockdown drill. I showed building administration how to use the pre-recoded messages that are stored in the DVC, so they used those. We have a custom message for lockdown.
At my old school we had this very old/ creepy Lock down announcement
and i wonder how they used it?
It may have been some sort of tape recording or something. Our lockdown message starts with the DVC hi-lo tone, and that is a bit creepy ngl. It then goes like “Attention. The building is in a lockdown condition. (x2). Teachers, please make sure that no one is in the hallway.” or something similar to that. It was obviously custom done.
I don’t know because i switched schools before i knew what it was
we just had our second fire drill of the year, yes it is very delayed first due to the pre ACT and then the cold. but I glad we had it.
So here is something interesting. At the end of the block that we had the lockdown drill in, like as the bell was ringing, we had the alarm activate. I went down to the panel to help administration interpret the alarm, and to make sure that they didn’t accidentally do something after they ended the lockdown drill, since last school year they left the message turned on, and the next day it just started randomly going off. The alarm was real, it was a Smokie activation in an office, what had happened was that someone had gotten something crispy in the microwave, and evidently it didn’t trip in the area that originally went in to alarm, but it traveled throughout the building, and then must have concentrated enough in this office that was across the building from the origin. We were standing outside for about 30 minutes.
On Wednesday we had a lockdown drill. Nothing really special happened, and it went pretty well
No fire alarm afterwards?
No, just a lockdown drill. We’d had a fire drill a few days prior
I am Having a Fire drill on the 29th of November I will keep you guys posted
