Today, Honeywell made a huge announcement. As many have been hoping for, the brands will finally be consolidated. Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, and System Sensor will be merging into FireKnight (a completely nonproprietary brand), while Notifier, Gamewell-FCI, and Farenhyt will be merging into NotiFCI (a completely proprietary brand). With this, there are several exciting updates:
- The GFP series has been released, but it is just an N16X with the N16-VEL license preinstalled. The N16X only works with 951-series devices (formerly from Notifier) by default, but the N16-VEL license allows Velociti devices to be used. The E3, S3, and GWF-7075 are discontinued immediately.
- The FireWarden and ONYX panels have been discontinued and replaced with the Inspire. The Honeywell XLS series (including the XLS-4000, but not the XLS-EFG-250) have all been discontinued to be replaced with the N16.
- The Fire-Lite MS series conventional panels have been replaced with the HFC series, which is a rebrand of Potter’s PFC conventional panels.
- A new coin-operated CLSS pull station will be released (SS-BG12-CLSS). This will hopefully reduce false alarms because only people reporting a genuine emergency would be willing to insert a coin. A Honeywell representative will visit these sites annually to collect the coins from the pull stations as an additional revenue source.
- The System Sensor Select series (along with the Fire-Lite 365 series and Silent Knight SK series) has been discontinued and completely replaced with the SS series. A new B300-CLIP-IV base has been released to enable CLIP functionality, since the SS series does not support CLIP mode.
- The addressable L-Series has been released. These will require an N16-LADDR license on Inspire panels or an HPF-PS6/10-ADDR power supply for other panels. An N16-INC license is also available for the panel to communicate with Eaton SUB-NAC modules.
Happy April fools.
