This is known as the DIN Tone, which is the standard evacuation tone in Germanyāitās pretty much a faster version of the MA/SSās Swept Frequency. So, yes the video does take place in Europe and the people are speaking German. I thought I could clear that up for you, Kevtistic, since Iām a German-speaker!
Moreover, I have a theory that some of the videos youāve seen, with coded pull stations, actually take place in NYC. I frequently travel through Manhattan, so itās common for me to spot posted signs, even in modern installations, that elaborate the source for each coded signal. In fact, Iāve actually seen a video online that an NYU student took during a fire drillāthe signal was coded.
Also, you mention āMorse-Uā in some of the videos youāve found: is this some type of a new coding available on panels? I was hoping someone could clarify this.
Short documentary of a fire alarm system installed in 1908 in a system of rail stations somewhere in Pakistan. Quite interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/user/HawkHawkam - Simplex EVAC System doing a pulsed 120Hz Buzzer tone, then at 2:32 it does the Chime tone then a live announcement.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzbGzzVyB2s - An interesting Simplex system with a Simplex 9806, and a Simplex 2904 remote light beside the horn. The light is being coded to some odd coding by itself.
Thatās Dan Bās vid. He has another one w/ a 10" single-stroke bell and a red āFIREā light. Unfortunately, for some reason (at least for me), the video is sped up, so the light looks like it flashes a lot faster than it should, and itās the same thing with the bell vid. Iāve seen the bell vid before and that light actually pulses at 60 BPM march time. The one with the 90806 probably flashes at 120BPM march time.
- Unfortunately nothing is seen, but what is heard is the Simplex 4100-style mechanical bell EVAC tone!
P.S., the first vid is a bit disgustingā¦
lol
Thatās why you shouldnāt do drugs, kids.
I think that guy fell victim to a strange college prank, but then decided to prank the pranksters.
Or maybe he was just high.

Or maybe he was just high.
Luckily, they can do a drug test without him knowing!

These videos were actually taken in my city! I canāt really give any insight to the systems at the university, because Iāve hardly been there. Iāve only been to the football field, and their field house has an EST system with Integrity Horns

Wheelock 31-115 AC alarms in Code-3
Those alarms have a great tone.
