Hello! My name is Robin, I am a high school student, and fire alarms are a brand-new interest of mine. I joined this forum to learn more about them.
Hi, Robin, I think you already know who I am.
Welcome to the Fire Panel forums!!

Hey Corbin!
Thanks so much for telling me about this forum! It’s awesome!!! I have learned way more reading this forum for a few hours, than I have learned in weeks of googling stuff.
I knew you would learn a lot from this forum board! You will learn sooo much more over the next year! I’ve been studying fire alarms for a few years now, and forums helped me a lot.
Hello everyone! This is a father/son intro. My name is Jeff. My son, Chris has recently become interested in fire alarms and components. He watches a lot of New Age Server Alarm’s vids on YouTube. We just started our collection. We have a Simplex T-Bar and Firelite BG-12 pull stations. I ordered a TrueAlert remote strobe and it should be here this week. We can’t wait to learn from some of the more experienced collectors.
I might as well introduce myself to everyone here!
My real name is Tyler, I’m 18, live in London, Ontario, Canada! I’ve been a member of these forums since I was about 12-13 years old, and wow this place has changed a lot over the years! I remember when I first was interested in fire alarms, I had found these forums on a google search, and was so happy to find tons of other FA enthusiasts like me!
Starting after tomorrows exam, and my Grad Thursday, I will be done high school! I am moving on to college in September, taking an Electrical Techniques course, so that hopefully, I can get into the FA technician field. I have some weird interests, I also am a fan of School bell systems, P.A. systems (in schools and such), old buildings, cars, and urban exploring. I also love finding out history about old buildings, cities, schools, restaurants, etc.
Most people see me as a technical kind of guy. For high school this year, I joined student council, and became minister of communications, so I had access to the P.A. system everyday. Our PA system at school doubles as a bell system (its a Telecor). I did teach myself how to use it and program it and stuff, and throughout the year, I was the one who programmed bell schedules on it, wrote manuals for it so that the staff could understand how to use it once I was gone. I was also the guy every person looked for when they needed help with some technology.
But back to my FA hobby, I started out with my collection being 3 smoke alarms. The first real fire alarm I got was from my mom, and she had gotten it from a maintenance worker at her workplace. It was an Edwards 6" single stroke adaptabel, a spare one. From there, I started getting more alarms, most of them Edwards alarms. I own about 8 Adaptabels, and 11 Edwards pull stations, 8 of which are 270-SPOs. Now, my collection is thriving more than I ever thought it would be!
Somehow I never found this topic, so I guess I’ll give it a go.
My name is Destin (thesdx on YouTube), and I’m a sophomore at a community college in Pittsburgh, PA. After this year, I’ll be transferring to a 4-year university. I was accepted to Berklee College of Music while in high school, but after some opportunities came my way and my plans for the future began to change, I decided to stay in Pittsburgh and give myself some time to figure things out. I’m enjoying taking a variety of classes that suit my interests and having the time to live life a little before heading down a career path.
I’m a professional musician and have played in numerous bands over the years. I’ve always considered drums to be my main instrument, but guitar session work is what brings in the bacon. My most satisfying pursuit is definitely songwriting and production - I’m amassing a catalog of songs to eventually record a http://www.youtube.com/destinlecornu solo album. Currently, I play guitar with http://www.jacobkleinmusic.com Jacob Klein and may be going on tour later in the year. I’ve been looking into majoring in audio engineering for music or film/TV post-production, though I see that as more of a solid plan to fall back on than a goal to chase after. I’m an obsessive music nerd - I like all kinds of genres and have an iTunes library that takes up the better part of my hard drive, along with a small but growing vinyl collection.
I would also hesitantly identify as a computer nerd. When I was younger, I ran a local computer repair business, did commercial web design, assisted an author with the editing and publishing of a novel, got Cisco certified, and was familiar with a few programming languages, but I grew bored with it all and became disillusioned with the industry. These days, I’m more interested in the creative end-user side of computing such as pro audio and web/graphic design. Though I’m primarily a Mac user, I’m also kind of a cyberlibertarian and a proponent of open-source software. I would be a Linux fanatic if it was at all practical.
As far as other hobbies, I enjoy writing, architecture, philosophy, politics, http://www.dixmonthospital.com urban exploration, and nature. Fire alarms is certainly my black sheep interest - I still don’t know what got me fascinated with the things, but I’ve been an enthusiast for about 10 years and many of my friends still don’t know. I never expected to stick with the hobby as long as I have, and I really don’t have any interest in doing fire alarms professionally, but I enjoy learning as much as I can about them and contributing to the community. Luckily, the revenue from my YouTube channel allows me to buy new stuff and continue to make new videos.
Hi, I don’t know if anyone remembers me but my name is Matt (videogamer24385 on youtube). I had to put all my FA stuff in storage since we moved but hopefully I can drag it all out. A few years ago I had to sell off most of my stuff but I still have my 3 bay 4002, 1 bay 4002, 4001, 4003, and what ever else I can remember. Sooo yeah I can’t really think of much else to say. ._. Hopefully someone remembers me!
I remember you. That explains why you kept uploading just video game videos, videogamer24385, lol. I’m a subscriber.
Nope!
Hey Matt welcome aboard. I rember you
And welcome back Jake! You are still in the banned users group, so you might want to contact John or NewAgeServer to have that fixed.
I didn’t even noticed you were banned. Not trying to make that come out rude. I thought you just left.
Getting argued with when I try and tell a kid not to post the hotel he is staying in, I might just leave this time.
I was not argueing with you
And I was not arguing you. Wow, this happened more than once?
