holy crap what is this abomination? 1PCS NEW SIEMENS Fire sound and light alarm HZSG-2 24V | eBay
That’s one of the more accurate SpectrAlert knockoffs that have been made if I’m not mistaken.
the back is exact same exept the terminals tho
theres termina;s holes for both strobe and horn but they only the bottom onne
Yeah: that combined with the different label makes it highly likely that that’s a knockoff rather than a legit one (especially since from what I’ve seen legit Asian-market SpectrAlerts have always been made with a red lens: that one has a clear lens though).
Siemens at its international level: Making the most top notch rip off
The alarm in the third image is UL listed and it was originally made by a company called Macurco. The company mainly produces gas detection products, but they made this alarm and its mass notification units. They even made a sync module and protocol for this! I know it looks like a bootleg alarm, but it does temp 3 and 4. It turns out that not much is known about this alarm since it is in the “bootleg” category, but we need to know what it sounds like and how it acts. Here’s the link to their website AVNA - Horn/Strobe Series - Macurco Gas Detection
Pretty sure Siemens has nothing to do with that: don’t always assume an Ebay listing name is accurate (which they often aren’t!).
According to another topic on this site that might be a product of a Chinese company called “Light Engine”, who were apparently looking to enter the North American notification appliance business some years back with their own line of LED NAs, but that apparently never went anywhere. Another company that I’ve seen associated with that particular device is Universal/USI Electric, who supposedly rebrand it from its original manufacturer (whoever that is) for use with their residential smoke detectors. Very interesting though, had no idea that Macurco had it on their website in fire alarm red (since the only Macurco iteration of that device that I’ve seen is gray).
