Sky Lake Middle School was built in 1945 as a rather small, 2-story school building, which included a cafeteria, gym, media center, and auditorium. The school was renovated and expanded in 1995.

Simplex 4005. The original system was by Standard Electric Time. There is also a Graphic Annunciator in the main office.
Initiating Devices
The original 1945 building has Simplex 2099 pulls, along with a mix of older and newer TrueAlarm smokes, and a few Edwards Heat Detectors. Simplex Beam Detectors are installed in the gymnasium.
The new 1995 addition has 2099 pulls and a mix of older and newer TrueAlarm smokes.
The original system had Standard Electric Time pull stations and heat sensors.There was an ESL Smoke detector added later on.
Notification Appliances
The original 1945 building has ceiling mounted Simplex 4901-9805 horns. These horns are installed in the hallways, classrooms, offices and restrooms. Hallways also have wall-mounted 4904 Strobes. There is a Gentex GOS horn/strobe in the art room replacing a broken signal. A few of the 4901-9805 horns were replaced with Wheelock AH horns. The choir room has a Siemens U-MMT-MCS Horn/Strobe. The cafeteria, and gym have Simplex 4903-9217 horn/strobes. The auditorium has Simplex 4903 series speaker/strobes tied into a Simplex 4003 panel.
The 1995 addition has Simplex 4903-9217 Horn/Strobes in the hallways and media center, and Simplex 4901-9805 horns in classrooms and restrooms. There is a Wheelock AH horn in one classroom.
The NAC is set to continuous for both buildings. The 4003 is configured to do a chime tone and voice message.
The original system had Standard Electric Time Single-Stroke Bells and a Edwards Chime replacing a broken bell in the cafeteria. Coded to 4-4-4-4.
Clocks/Bells/Intercom
The PA system is a Simplex 5100, replacing a vintage Rauland system. The master clock panel is a Simplex 6400, replacing a Standard Electric Time panel.
Hallways, offices, and the media center have ceiling mounted Simplex Speakers.
Classrooms have wall-mounted Simplex clock/speaker combos and call-in switches.
The cafeteria, auditorium, and gym still have their old Rauland speakers.
Outside the 1945 building, there are Standard Electric Time 10 Inch Bells, with one Edwards 10 Inch Bell and one Wheelock bell. Outside the 1995 building, there are Faraday 10 Inch Bells.
The interior bell is a tone over the intercom, the exterior bells and intercom tone both ring for 4-seconds.
There used to be Standard Electric Time 6 Inch bells in the 1945 building.
As for clocks the 1945 wing has a mix of Standard Electric Time and Simplex analog clocks, whereas the 1995 wing uses Simplex clocks exclusively.
