Stepford Public Library
This library opened in the mid-1980’s, and has a Simplex 4010 system with a 4003 voice control panel and a 4606 annunciator at the main entrance. Like many of the systems in Stepford, CT, the system’s conventional initiating devices were replaced with addressable devices, but the signals were left intact.

The smoke detectors are Simplex on 4098-9601 addressable smoke detectors on 4098-9788 bases. Some of the smaller rooms have 4098-9794 sounder bases.

The pull stations are Simplex 4099-9001 single-action addressable stations.

The signals are Atlas SAV-3-60 speaker/strobes. On the ceilings, restrooms, and small rooms, there are Atlas SV22-2 remote strobes. Yes, even in the pre-ADA days, the perfectionists on the Stepford Town Council had requirements for strobe coverage.

The outdoor signals are Atlas VT-157UCR 70.7 volt speakers, each with a Wheelock WM3T-24 mounted above it.

The signals in the study booth and teen sections were replaced by Simplex 4903-9356 15 candela TrueAlert speaker/strobes.
