Alright, I made up this system for a high school I built in SimCity4.

Gardena City High school:
An older system consisting of Simplex chevron pulls and T-bars. Signals in the school are 4050 horns on 4050-80 light plates, and there are a few old Simplex projector horns scattered around the school.
Soon a new upgrade will replace the 4050 horns with spectralert speakers (no strobes because the light plate will remain) Some of the pulls will be replaced by BG-12s

Gardena City Middle School:
newly renovated system with Simplex dual action pulls and Truealert speaker/strobes and truealarm smokes.

Simplex 2001s didn’t come out until maybe 1979. They would’ve installed a 4207 or 4208 panel back then. And the only dual-action T-bars they had in 1981 were the break-glass 4251-30s

That doesnt make sense. 4050’s are AC horns, while 4051’s are DC horns. The panel you describe is an 2001 AC. If it were to be used with 4051’s, the panel would have to be 2001 DC.

Well, five of the buildings at my college originally had Simplex 4208 systems that had 4051 horns, yet 4208 panels are AC. I guess they have some kind of DC output as well.

ANYWAYS…

here’s one that I thought of.
It is an old office building built around 1952. It is a 10 story building, and had no fire alarm system until 1957. Then, an old Edwards panel was installed, and AC powered single stroke Adaptabels were installed, and the coded 270-SPOs were installed. This remained true until 1984, when Notifier installed a large conventional panel. Then, all of the old coded pulls were replaced with BNG-1 pulls, and System Sensor 2851B smokes were installed. Also, the bells were replaced with Wheelock 34-24 horns.
In 1998, the system was upgraded again by Cerberus Pyrotronics, who installed an MXL. MSI-10B pull stations were installed, and they replaced the smokes with FP-11 addressable smokes. The horns were discarded, and replaced with Spectralerts, 15/75 candela, and horn circuit panel coded to code 3. An RCC-1 remote annunciator was installed just inside the front entrance.

This was partially inspired by seeing the fire alarm system at my dad’s old elementary school…

The Robinson High School, built in 1959, originally had an old Simplex 4248-1 panel (relabeled IBM panel), 4030-2 horns in the hallways and lobbys, and regular 4030 horns in the cafeteria, gym, music room, locker rooms and auditorium. The pull stations were Simplex 4251-11 Chevrons (I heard that there were IBM-rebranded Chevrons, so they had to be around since the 1950s). They also had the old metal Chemtronics heat detectors in various places. They also had Simplex-labeled 4015-6A bells for the school bells.

In 1970, they installed a Simplex 4040 horn in a wood shop room, and one in the home economics room, since the alarms couldn’t be heard really well there.

In 1978, the 4030 in the cafeteria broke down, so a 4050 horn on a 4050-80 light plate replaced it.

Between 1979 and 1980, two of the Chevrons broke down, so they were replaced with Simplex 4251-20 T-bar pulls.

In 1983, a few of the Chemtronics heat detectors were replaced with ESL smoke detectors relabeled by ADT.

In 1999, the old 4248 panel died down, so they installed a Simplex 4005 panel next to it, and kept the 4248 for terminal wiring. The 4030-2s were left intact in the hallways, and the 4030s in the auditorium and gym were left intact, as was the 4050/4050-80 in the cafeteria and the 4040 in the wood shop class. But the 4030s in other places were replaced with Simplex 4903-9236 horn/strobes. Another Chevron broke down and was replaced with a Simplex 2099-9754 pull.

In 2001, two of the Chemtronics heat detectors broke down, and were replaced with Simplex 4098-9601 TrueAlarm smokes.

Located in the remaining halls, medium-sized rooms, auditorium, cafeteria, gym; SR strobes are in the remaining bathrooms; an SCR strobe is in the main office. MHW mini-horns (continuous since the panel is coded) are installed in small rooms (regardless if there located in hallways that have TrueAlerts or Advances), guidance offices, health office, and in the conference room; SCW strobes are in the small rooms that have the MHW mini-horns.

Notes about the system
ALL strobes are synchronized.

Not sure if the dates are accurate here, but here goes…

The Dakota Square mall was built in 1940. It had IBM single-stroke bells in 4-4-2 and unknown pulls, which were break-glass

In 1955, a bell was damaged by a leak in the backbox. The bell and the backbox was replaced with an unknown IBM horn.

In 1970, a huge portion of the mall caught on fire due to a riot. The pulls and bells were unfortunately, unrecoverable… :cry:, and the mall was closed for 5 years for an entire renovation.

In 1975, the mall was reopened. The alarms were 4051s with 2901 light plates. The pulls were the standard simplex t-bar.

In 1980, a pull was broken and replaced with a BG-10 (Quite an odd play for a mall with a simplex system…)

In 1999, Caldor, the anchor store, closed, and was replaced with Kohls. The alarms in Caldor were the same as the rest of the mall, but the store was gutted, and the alarms were replaced with Quickalerts, but, however, with the same pull.

However, in the following years, a competitor opened not to far from this mall. The mall shut down, and was left abandoned for 7 years before being demolished. A Wal-mart Supercenter now sits where the mall was, which has Spectralert Advances and BG-12s

That’s the only inaccurate date I could find. The 2901 light plates weren’t around until maybe the early 1980s. Instead they would’ve had 4050-80 light plates.

Ok, here’s a new one:

The John E. Schiller high school was built in 1955. An IBM 4201-4 system was installed with IBM pulls and bells. In 1961, part of the school burned down. The school closed for a year, and in 1962, it reopened. The new section of the school had Simplex 4030 horns and Chevron pulls. Throughout the late 60’s and early 70’s, broken 4030’s got replaced with 4050-85’s and pulls with T-bars. In 1986, the school received a new addition. Wheelock 7002t’s were added, and replaced almost all of the old IBM bells. A new Notifier panel was installed, though the IBM panel still operated some of the remaining bells. Throughout the early 1990’s, malfunctioning NA’s were replaced with Wheelock MT’s, and pulls were replaced with Fire-Lite BG-8’s. In 1998, the school was remodeled, and nearly all of the fire alarms got replaced due to inconsistency. Both panels were replaced with a Silent Knight panel. New SpectrAlert horn/strobes were installed, along with Fire-Lite BG-10’s. IBM bells and pulls still remain in the basement, as they would be too difficult to remove from the stone foundation. There are still 4050-85’s in the wood shop, and a 4030 in the janitor’s shop.
