Make up a system

Horn, definitely.

EST Genesis

Actually, they used to have Fire-Lite BG-10L’s but they wanted to be up to code. They used to have a Fire-Lite panel, but was replaced by a 4010.

sigh What are they set to? It always drives me crazy when you list a Multitone alarm!

 CONTINUOUS

Actually, There’s a McDonald’s near me that was recently renovated. They have Simplex TrueAlerts, but I could’ve sworn there were Fire-Lite BG-12s for pulls.

Middle School Now:

  1. Edwards 892s in the halls (continuous)

  2. 9422s in the bathroom (continuous)

  3. 1 9838 in the locker room (continuous)

  4. Spectras in the science labs (Code-3)

  5. Simplex 9219s doin’ cafeteria duty (continuous)

  6. 1 Red Edwards 360-l alarm in the gym (Code-3)

Name of the school is Happy Chandler Middle School

I’ll mention two schools.

A school in California has Edwards 892 horn/strobes in big classrooms and in several halls and Edwards 892 speaker/strobes in smaller classrooms and in some hallways, and Edwards 270-SPO pulls.

The speaker/strobes do this message: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L12EPTkzVtw

Another school in PA (about 5 mi near Hersheypark) has:

  1. Edwards 892-1B Horn/Strobes (main alarm) in halls and bigger classrooms

  2. ESL Lift and Pull T-Bars

  3. System Sensor MASS’s in small classrooms set to 1200Hz Interrupted

  4. Simplex 9219s in the Gymnasium (along with Simplex 2099-9754 pulls), Health Rooms, Locker Rooms, and some Science classrooms.

  5. A “Classic” SpectrAlert in one exit area and a weatherproof Spectra right outside the area.

  6. An Edwards 270-SPO and Edwards Integrity set to Code-3 in the Janitor’s room.

  7. A Wheelock MT (set to Hi-Lo) on the Bottom of all the stairwells.

That is pretty odd. Maybe the BG-12s were held over from the previous system?

I do know the only thing similar to that was at the Field House Building at my college, they have a Faraday fire alarm system, but with Simplex T-bars held over from the old system. (The original Simplex panel and signals have been long gone for a couple of years now.)

High School again. I really like doing schools. It’s called the James D. Williams High School.

  1. The hallways have 9806 signals

  2. The stairwells have Wheelock 7002Ts near them

  3. There are 4051s in the computer rooms on each of the 3 floors and basement

  4. The new wing has U-MMTs, the new ones, even in the bathrooms.

  5. TrueAlerts in the bathroom

  6. SpectrAlert Advanced in the Library

  7. The ESL room has a MASS set to continuous

The Madison Junior High School, built in 1957, originally had Edwards 874 Adapt-a-Horns and 270-SPOs. The bells were Edwards Adapt-a-Bels with a few chimes as well. In 1975, the fire alarm system was replaced with a Simplex 4208 panel, with 4051 horns on 4050-80 light plates (with “FIRE” on the lens) and 4251-30 break-glass pull stations. The 4051s were set on Continuous. They kept the older heat detectors installed in 1971. The Adapt-a-Bels and chimes were kept intact as well. They even installed new Simplex clocks in the classrooms. In 1989, a 4051 was retrofitted onto a 4904-9101 strobe plate in the gym. In 2002, they went through another upgrade, replacing the 4208 with a Simplex 4100U panel, and all the 4051 horns and their retrofit plates got replaced with 4903-9219 horn/strobes set on Code-3, and they even installed 4903 remote strobes in several classrooms and the bathrooms. The heat detectors were replaced with newer TrueAlarm smokes, and they kept most of the old pulls, but replaced one with a 4099-9003 pull in the cafeteria. And they still didn’t bother to replace the old chimes and bells, either.

Why didn’t you put an ESL device in the ESL room?

ESL doesn’t make NA’s, they only make smokes and they relabel pulls. Some basic panels, too.

How should I put this? VERY BIG School. Let’s call it the Neil E. Goldschmidt High School.

  1. 2903-9806s set to continuous at a low volume in the halls

  2. The bathrooms have 9422s set to continuous

  3. The writing center, GC Office, Business Office, Counseling Office, Greenhouse & AG Lab has Integrities set to continuous

  4. Simplex 4051s in Art Rooms, Tech Ed Lab, Band Areas, Greenhouse, Lakeside Lounge, TV Studio and AV Center

  5. The computer rooms, bigger classrooms, inhouse suspension, library work room, Foyer, Swimming Area, Teacher’s Lounge & ESL rooms have 9219

  6. TrueAlerts near the stairwells

  7. AS’s outside near the entrance

  8. Simplex 4030 in ALL the shop areas

Did you mean 2901-9806 (horn) or 2903+2901-9806 (horn on 2903 light plate)

The horn on the 2903 retrofit light plate.
