A little thing about that setup: the Simplex 2001 panel only puts out 120VAC on its NAC(s). So, 9806’s would not work. Sorry, but I had to point that out.
Then if I saw videos and heard 9806s in 90 BPM march time on YouTube, then what panel is it being produced from. :?
A hotel that had fire alarm changes over the time. This was built in the late 1980s.

When the hotel was built, the alarms were 2903+2901-9838’s (C# Tone), and Simplex 4251 T-bars (mostly the -30s but they’re were some -20s) on a Simplex 2001 System (90 BPM March Time).

But in the mid-90s, they replaced all the 2903+2901-9838’s (except one) with Simplex 4903-9219’s, the 4251’s were replaced with -9754s, and the 2001 was replaced by a spare 4002.

Then in the late '90s, the 9219’s on the A side of the building were replaced by 9237s, the 4002 with the 4005, then in 2000, some of the 9219’s in the entrance area were replaced by TrueAlerts (-9425s), and TrueAlert strobes were added in the lavs near the lobby. However, they did one odd thing with the last 9838. They took down the 9838 and put a 4901-9825 SMACKED RIGHT on the 2903 light plate. Coding is still march time (120 BPM).

Integrity: Some in the halls, the locker rooms, library, technology room, some big classrooms, some of them mounted on the ceiling in the hallways, near the janitors office, near the gym, near some exits, near the courtyard exits, and in the kitchen that’s connected to the cafeteria.
Genesis: In the entrance area, most of them in the halls, near the elevator downstairs, near the stairwells, in the cafeteria, in-house (where students have suspension), the medium sized classrooms, and in one exit area.

This is an old Notifier system from 1983. It is an “outside” school in a rather old part of the town.
It consists of this- a Notifier panel from around that era, model number unknown. It is rather big, and supplies 24VDC to smokes and the NAC. Only 4-wire, non addressable smokes.
In the office, where the panel is, there are D273 Bosch photoelectric smokes. Same with every other room in the school. However, in some older wings and the bathrooms, there are ESL 445Cs. All are mounted surface on Wiremold circular boxes, and some areas like the bathrooms even have exposed Wiremold raceway running across a stack of 2x4s running along the ceiling. One bathroom has one of the newer Bosch photo smokes because the old 445 that used to be there malfunctioned and broke.
In most of the areas, there are Notifier NBG-1 silver pull stations with red lettering. In some of the newer wings, there are Fire Lite BG-10L pulls instead of the older Notifiers
As for the NAC, in the main classrooms, there are PA400Rs with PS24 add on strobes surface mounted on standard single gang metal boxes near the ceiling. The main classrooms have fairly tall peaked ceilings, at about 18’ tall. In the newer wings, there are lower drop ceilings. The newer wings have red vertical Wheelock AS horn/strobes. In the cafeteria, there are 2 Wheelock 7002s on semi-flush plates since the cafeteria is really big. In the gym, right next to the cafeteria, there are 4 C7001s (not T) mounted on the ceiling, one on each corner of the gym. The gym is about 25’ tall, and is 100’ long by 75’ wide. Outside, in the hallways, there are 34-24s mounted on Wheelock weatherproof boxes.
Signal coding is continuous, and the newer vertical AS units are also in continuous.
In a few minutes, I’ll have pictures of what some of the alarms would look like.

The question is, why did they want to use Simplex alarms?
There is a school building that has three buildings. The first building is the main building, the second one is the overflow and the third one is the gym building. The system is set up like this.

The cooking room, has a Simplex 4051+4050-85 alarm in the cooking room, sewing & mechanical drawing has a Simplex 2903+2901-9806 and woodworking and mechanical drawing working rooms have Simplex 9846s.

You mean the vibratories, 2901s, 2903s, and 4903s? Well, I got an “ID Guide” from weatherdan that only focus on the 4903/4904s. IDK about the vibratories and 2901s and 2903s, though.
gets tired and takes a dinner break
My high school had an old Simplex fire alarm system from 1970 (despite using a newer Gamewell/FCI panel) and though the horns were Simplex 4040s, the pulls were Edwards 270-SPOs. And the Davis Elementary School I keep mentioning, though it has a Simplex 4208 system with 4051/4050-80s, a couple of wings have Edwards 270-SPOs for the pulls, though the rest of the school has 4251-30 break-glass T-bars.
That would be real cool to see those installed like that in an actual gym. In some ways I wish my school had an older system (thats functioning) because the system now is such a standard modern addressable system. Nothing interesting about it.
The only thing interesting about the new fire alarm systems at my college is the choice of components. A Faraday system with Chevron pulls and SAE electronic horn/strobes. Well, only two of the buildings had all the old pulls replaced, and even though the horns are loud (like continuous Wheelock MTs, IMO) they pretty much sound like any other electronic fire alarm horn, probably anything made by Wheelock or an Edwards 892
