Mini-test 50 reminds me of high school. Where we had Simplex 9838 horns and the older building also had SAE 2DCD+AV32 horn/flashers on the ceiling suspended by a rod.
Been a while, but here is a test of my very first fire alarm speaker:
Great job on the test! Seeing a TrueAlert without a strobe though is a bit weird. What do the ceiling mount versions look like?

What about a ceiling mount TrueAlert with the strobe?
The horn/strobe and speaker/strobe models of these look the same.
Never seen one of those in person before, must not be too common.
They look very weird though. And for a minute, I thought that the ceiling-mount versions looked like the old 4903 horns.
I can see them being mistaken for a speaker.
There are thousands of alarm instalations… You have seen what? .00000001% of them? haha.
I bet not as common as SpectrAlerts and Commanders.
In large commercial buildings… doubtfull.
You can’t generalize because you see some spectralerts in the basic installs you see every day.
What goes on in large occupancy buildings such as high rises and complicated installations like government, higher education, military, etc is beyond the scope of anything that you can comprehend and generalize based on the installations at your local walmart and school.
Good point, I didn’t think about that.
My school has mostly SHG’s, and are switching over to Commander 3’s (slowly), as they are found inoperable.
I’m pretty sure that in the future, every single school will have SpectAlert Advanced horns replacing every single old horn.
