Name That Fire Alarm!

That’s a ceiling-mount EST Genesis horn/strobe!

Thought so.

Thats the first time I’ve seen a red one, all the ones around here are white.

From Broadway MBTA Red Line Station, name that fire alarm!

Looks like some kind of general-signaling Wheelock MT horn/strobe.

Looks like a Wheelock MT used as a door alarm or mabey a train departure alarm? (hence the blue strobe)

To keep this post alive, here’s a Gentex Commander 3 with weatherproof enclosure.

In Grand Haven, MI, there is a large pier that leads out to the lighthouse. About every 15 or 20 feet there was a glassed enclosure with a life buoy in it. Beside these enclosures are these alarms, white, with blue strobes, i’m assuming to act as notification if there’s an emergency.

From Boston, MA, name that fire alarm!

That’s a Federal Signal remote strobe, pre-ADA model.

From Guitar Center in Boston, Massachusetts, name that fire alarm!

It’s a Wheelock ZNS.

Yup, thats what they have there.

Uh, the label on the bottom says “Siemens”

Yeah. IIRC, the place has a Siemens system, therefore the alarms are rebranded by Siemens. Almost all the systems at Yale University are Siemens systems with Siemens rebranded Wheelock alarms.

Name it (because I’m not 100% sure about this one myself).

That might be a Federal Signal Selectone speaker with one of those ADA-compliant strobes added

Exactly. I’m quite familiar with those since my MS had them.

I figured it was Federal Signal based on the strobe, but I wasn’t sure if it was a speaker or a horn. This was installed in a store as part of a small plaza. I wonder why they installed speakers in there.

It could be a Federal 450E electronic horn with the ADA strobe on it as well. 450Es and SelecTone speakers have the same grille.
