I just saw my first ones in the wild at a new Aldi store on Akron’s west side
It makes more sense when you look at the ELMTS’s brother, the ELAMTS, which has 3 different audible inputs for 3 separate tones.
is this the problem that I saw on a video from nic’s system electric
It’s not exactly the same problem, but I think that might be related.
Outdoor L-Series speakers have been released. It seems that the ceiling-mount speaker strobes have the same asymmetric design that was seen in the prototypes (although the final design looks less like MS Paint). The datasheet does not mention any 8-watt variants of the speakers, although those were mentioned in the ESD slides.
Also, LED chime strobes have been available from distributors for a while, but the datasheet has now been posted. It seems that these chime strobes will come with FIRE or FIRE/FEU lettering, unlike the original L-Series and SpectrAlert Advance chime strobes (which had no lettering).
I think this proves that the rumored multicolored strobe is fake, as there are only two wires going to the strobe.
The yellow flash might be created by sending a lower voltage through those wires or some other variation in the current, so this doesn’t necessarily refute the possibility. Also, this is a prototype, so it might not have the yellow flash that is present in the final version.
You’re right. I’d be interested to see inside an actual non-prototype device. I’d like to see the actual LED chip itself. That would give us a definitive answer.
I saw my first LED L-Series devices today! I actually like how they look. I have yet to see the wall mount or speaker/strobe versions, though.
Here is the system I saw them in: Fire Alarms in Buildings (2.0) - #2768 by aerhardt
I have a broken p2grled that i took apart everything and the led chips are the same i think i can send pictures
Yeah, that second picture confirms that they are all white LEDs.
do you know the part number of the burnt chip on mine i need to have it replaced since alarms are crazy expensive rn in thailand
It might say on the chip.
Other than that, I’m not really sure.
Mines burnt i send picture so its not clear for lettering
I saw my first led L-series at a restaurant, they had both wall and ceiling. Overall, it looks way better installed in person then concept photos online
UL’s website now lists a new generation of L-Series low frequency sounders (e.g. HWL2-LF), as well as LED low frequency sounder strobes. I suspect that the L2 sounders will have the same dual UL/ULC listing and T3/T4 support as the LED L-Series, since there doesn’t appear to be any special Canadian version of the L2 series, which also raises questions over whether there will be any replacement for the silence switch models such as the HGRLZA-LF.
We have basically no idea what the new low frequency devices will look like. The Notifier presentation includes images on slide 6, but the LED low frequency devices look like MS Paint drawings, and the low frequency devices were originally scheduled to release in H1 2024 according to slide 8, but there is no other mention of low frequency devices in the slides.
I don’t see any listing for an L2 version of the standard horn. I also have not seen any update on 4-wire devices or drop-in ceiling tiles.
I found an LED L-Series PC2RLED Horn strobe at my local Bricks and Minifigs store.
