New LED System Sensor L-Series

I May get one soon! But I’ve been mostly focusing on aviation lately

Pretty sure T4 will be on the low frequency devices only, similar to the xenon L series

Not sure about that, Wheelock put a t4 option on their non-LF devices. Where exactly did you hear this?

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but here’s my point:
Now that we know the regular LED L series does not have a T4 tone. The regular xenon L series also does not have a T4 tone, but the xenon low frequency L series does have the T4 tone. Since they haven’t changed the tones between the xenon and LED versions they probably will put T4 on the low frequency version which hasn’t been released yet.

Nic’s video on the LED L-Series is out!

According to Nic, the LED L-Series is now listed for use on FWR. So that changes the game here a lot. Now the LED L-Series does not suck as much as it used to.

Too little too late, as some distributors already dropped System Sensor due to the lack of documented FWR support

Seriously? That’s kind of an overreaction if you ask me.

What makes you think dropping a line of products that do not support FWR is an overreaction? There are countless systems out there that still only output FWR that said alarms would not work on.

Well then I’d say that’s the fault of manufacturers who continue to make panels that output FWR even though it’s not the ideal type of current for NAs to be running on (though shame on System Sensor as well for not making it clear that the LED L-series actually will run on FWR).

They can’t suddenly make a line of filtered panels overnight. Until that happens, they won’t distribute the led l series because system sensor didn’t make it clear that they can run on FWR. Perfectly normal reaction.

Yeah I’ve heard about that

I cant seem to find this online, but where do you buy the strobe lenses for the LED L-Sieres?

Some new findings I’ve made:

  1. So you know how the LED L-Series is now UL listed for FWR, my theory is the reason the FWR listing was not made until after launch is because the first ones produced don’t support FWR. I have one of the first ones made and I can confirm this. I guess the newer production LED L series can run on FWR. This will be a problem in the future as you won’t be able to tell if an LED L-series unit will work on FWR or not unless you know the date codes and stuff.
  2. HenBasket asked if the LED L-series will do temporal 4 when you start it on audible silence. The answer is no. So it’s gonna be a different protocol for Temporal 4 most likely.

I wonder if Honeywell just decided to rush it out before the initial full testing of this new LED L-series they have.

Could be: they’ve rushed things before (such as the Silent Knight 6000-series).

oh yes its 100% a rushed product

I’m not sure where Nic found that datasheet, since the datasheet I found on Honeywell’s website still says FWR is not supported by the strobes.

Its really no surprise since it took them quite a while to get the design of the L-Series right and the initial first base design wasn’t correct. Lots of distributors seem to have already dropped the brand from that.
